New AdSense User - Need Help

I got my Adsense account and placed one ad banner on my forum, which has around 500 members, 70 uniques/day, and over 800 pageviews/day. They said that they offer CPC and CPM ads, but I got over 4000 impressions 15 clicks in the past few days, and it looks like they only paid me $4.10 for the clicks. Is there any tip/trick that I can use to get more traffic and make money from my community?

Generally speaking banners don't produce half as well as text ads. Also, if your forum caters to web-savvy people like webmasters or web publishers, your click rate will be very, very low.

so, what can i do to make it better .... ? my community is new ... i can delete everything restart the community on some other topic ... if that'll help ....

I don't know, because you haven't told us what the community is about, and you haven't given a link so we can check it out. But at the very least, I would change from banner ad to text ad and see if that makes a difference for you.

Its common that CTR is low for forums. But $4.10 for 15 clicks is not bad at all. Its really good.

you should also remember that there are some pages in forums that aren't allowed to have adsense ads.

basically, pages with the adsense code on them need to have content as per their rules. so some pages in forums aren't allowed, such as sign-up pages, memberlist pages, etc where there is no real content.

k ... instead of using some good forum software ... i am gonna switch to vanilla forum sofwtare and start some general discussion zone. vanilla forum allows me to place ads on many places and all of them will be organized .... they have this ad mod. vbulletin is expensive...so i'll stay away from it ..... for now .... i also heard that domain broker business is also good ... is that true .... never bought a domain in my entire life .... dont know how this domain buying/selling works .... lol .... anyway .... wish me good luck
