I just transferred about 10 of my domains to Network Solutions :guilty: To take advantage of the free year transfer. I'm hoping I can wait 2 months and transfer back to my old registrar without any conflicts. Wish me the best of luck guys :hearts:

http://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/name-it/transfer.jhtml I don't see any catch so I am hoping to just get a free year and transfer back. I havent noticed any big players taking advantage of the free year. Anything I should know about :music: Please post feedback on what you feel about this marketing scheme because I sure am having mixed emotions. I was not required to use a credit card on the transfer so there is no way NSI can duke me on my credit card but there has to be a catch I am assuming?

All the best of luck, start trying to move them out as soon as the 2 months is up ... it might take you the next 10 months to get anywhere :)

Yah, Ive heard only bad things about networksolutions. I think they are the ones that used to send me HORDES of letters asking for me to renew my domains with them way in advance tool lol.

Netsol rules! Netsol RULES! NETSOL RULES!

In their imagination, that is. :bingo:

Actually, it's a marketing thingie they're offering. Might as well take advantage of it since you'll get a free year.

Then transfer out after 2 months. Better yet, after you confirm the transfer with the new registrar, give 'em 48 hours and call 'em to confirm it so their phone reps can do it for you.

Make sure you're the authorized contact, though.....

Its not that easy. Transferring out is a pain in the a** at netsol. But you can always get the free year if you just want to hold it for the moment.

Actually I discovered this one time when I moved one of my domains out. Here's how it happened:

1. I called them one time to check if they got my reply to their email confirmation.
2. The agent who talked to me said she checked and they didn't get it (now why am I not surprised?).

Now the next part is the surprise....

3. She checked and saw it's still open, meaning I can still confirm the transfer via email if I wanted to. But she told me she can access the request and confirm it on my behalf since I'm the admin contact.

4. I told her to go ahead. She said she accessed it & confirmed it, telling me to check tomorrow if it's transferred & giving me a ticket number to confirm the call.

Lo and behold, I checked a couple of hours later and saw it was indeed being transferred, though it ended up in Go Daddy a few days later.

Hmmm, this is new. But at least they gave me another option to confirm the transfer rather than run the risk of their not getting my reply to their confirmation email.

Give it a try. By the way, they changed their system in such a way that they created what they call the Primary Contact.

They say the PC has full domain access and can now confirm or deny transfers, not the admin contact anymore.

Whatever....:|
