Network Solutions (and also Enom) is letting many domains pass by their own expired/backorder system and enter in deletion period, even when domains have a lot of backorders through NameJet.

Not even by being sit on a cash cow with no little effort and cost to suck on the almost free money currently hitting about $10 million per year do they get it right... :td:

some names:
etcs.com
safekit.com
ifoam.com
unnu.com

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Maybe registrants of those domains "opted out" of their domain auction thingie:

http://www.networksolutions.com/support/domain-deletion-policy/

We will not attempt to complete a Direct Transfer of a domain name registration after expiration if the customer to whom the domain name is registered has notified us by email at [email protected] stating that he or she does not want us to proceed with such a transfer. In this case, the domain name registration will be deleted.

I suppose they could've configured their system to "notify" users if a domain's opted out prior to making a backorder, though I imagine that isn't exactly in their top-priority list right now.

Dafekit.com and ifoam.com are nice names to get. Does Network Solutions
let many domains pass at the same time when they were back-ordered on namejet.com ?

it could be but then why do they let backorder the domains on namejet? and why eNom leaks domains too? complete incompetence...

they are letting several domains pass through the backorder process but it is a marginal percentage. nonetheless they should have 0 leakage.

Snapnames has the same problem sometimes.

That depends how maybe one thinks the backorder "should" work. If I made one at SnapNames, the domain dropped rather than go through pre-deletion auction, SnapNames nabs it successfully after availability, then I win, then the backorder did the job, right?

Anyway, this is just a possibility. Perhaps you can ask either one, though I don't know if their answers will be personally satisfying.

I understand that Dave. the issue here is that NetSol (and eNom) are the owners and operators of NameJet. They built the system to channel the domains expired on their registrar businesses. So they must deal with these domains without flaws. It is different with SnapNames that has preferred partners but in which most of them are not owned by SnapNames/Oversee group. Except perhaps for names registered with Moniker or belonging to Oversee's portfolio for which I have seen also a few drops, but not with the dimension of Netsol.

Asking NameJet this question will get the template "It is the responsibility of our providers to communicate us the domains expired" and other vague and dumb answers like that.:gl:
