Need urgent help on renewing a domain

Hi there. A couple of years ago, I registered a domain and I have just looked at the whois and it says it expired 31st Jan 2008. However, I can still access the website and everything seems OK. Looking at the registrar, it says key-systems.net who I have never used before. Just as well - because I have tried contacting them about this but no response.

I want/need this domain renewed and I am not willing to pay stupid "redemption fees" for the sake of some ignorant registrar. Can anyone give me some advice? I also need to know how long I've got until the domain becomes available.

I really wish I knew. I register all of my domains with GoDaddy. I can only assume I registered this domain with a separate registrar who then got taken over by "key-systems.net" (as useless as they are).

Thanks John. I've contacted Moniker and asked whether they have this domain on their system or not. I don't think I've ever really used Moniker though.

Domaindiscount24.com? They are actually Key Systems GMBH. One of my domains at Moniker has also key-systems.net in whois data, so these two could be first suspects

wish you luck buddy. that kind of situation is difficult, the same as trying to obtain some documents lost during transition in a building full of bureaucrats.

I still think domain is registered with Moniker. But you can try also following:

1) You should have received renewal reminder email from your registrar. Search your emails, there should be something.
2) Go to Nominet.org.uk "online services" and create account with same contact email as for domain - perhaps you can find access to domain that way
3) Contact support of Nominet.org.uk. They can advice you where and how you can renew this domain

Your site is still live which is good news and a check of the Who Is
says the domain is Expired but Renewable.

By the way, how could you not know where the domain was registered?

When you registered the domain you certainly received email confirmation, have credit card receipt amd should have received renewal notices.

Thanks for the input everyone. Here's an update. I found an old email from GoDaddy regarding the domain. So I contacted GoDaddy. They told me it's registered with Key-Systems and so to contact them. So I've done that (for the fifth time!). I have also contacted nominet about all this so just waiting eagerly for answers. If I don't hear from Key-Systems and this domain expires, then I can assure you they will be closing business very soon.

When you register .co.uk names through Godaddy, they actually pass your registration on to key-systems. Since you originally did the sale through godaddy, they should be able to help.
