BTW
Maybe it would be useful to create a sticky thread „How to find Endusers for .tv’s”.
We’ll post there templates in different languages (it’s important to write in an Endusers’s language IMO), we could discuss pricing, strategies etc.
What do you think?
A few of the things that I do is avoid the use of batching or sending my email to scores of addresses at once. I send to potential clients individually. I also never use links, ie. I would put down, for example, sedo.com instead of
Sedo - The world's leading domain marketplace*-*Sedo.com. If the potential enduser is interested in my product he or she will know how to type in the web site.
I do these in an attempt to avoid some filters barring my email from getting through. Not a guarantee but enhances the odds of your message getting read.
If feasible, go for the person responsible for marketing or product development. Sometimes that is not achieveable, so go for the line:
Please direct this information to the appropriate department, thank you.
then your message - I give them the email as simple information for their company or their clients or customers.
I was surprised at the responses I received by people in higher positions(like pres and vp)telling me they got the email and have indeed sent it to the department they deemed may be interested. A few even gave me the email address of the person so I could send the email there. The response sends me acknowledgement that not only was it read, but others would have the opportunity to read it as well.
It takes time but the way I look at it at least the word is out and if they put some thought into it, they can visualize the benefits of the acquisition for their company.
A sample letter that I am using right now is more of an information sheet regarding the sedo premium auction. The domain name(s) I am selling is displayed prominently in the letter but also the possibility of getting them familiar with the sedo concept doesn't hurt in the long run, as exposure is the key here.
Best of luck and fortune to all here!
Anyway, here is a sample letter:
If you or one or more of your clients are planning to create a presence on the internet, there are a number of domain names at Sedo.com presently up for auction that you may be considering, including:
- -- - - Your domain names here- - - - -
These and other .tv names are available exclusively at Sedo.com
This "general" auction rides on the tails of the Sedo premium .tv auction set for April 1-8, 2010. The sedo premium .tv auction inventory includes 115 of the most sought after .tv names, for the first time available with greatly reduced, standard renewal rates. Feel free to check them and all available .tv names there. There may be one that is what you have waited to find, and now at a normal registration fee per year, worth the wait. Just think about the marketing potential if one company owned a domain name in an extension(.tv) that the viewer is comfortable with.
Yes, the .tv extension is now running at normal yearly registration fees and that opens up an avenue of opportunity for the fortunate endusers with the .tv extension after their domain name.
If you see any name that your company can use, Sedo.com is the address where you have the opportunity to purchase it.
Thank you for your kind attention to this offer.
Sincerely,
