I am looking to develop an ongoing relationship with a PHP/MySQL programmer with abilities to do basic XHTML/CSS work. The work will vary but not be extremely difficult. At first I will ask you to do a few simple scripts such as a basic price comparison script and other basic database/php work to see how well we work together. Another early project will be to take a basic website template that I have pieced together and reorganize it, clean up the code, add comments etc. so that I can make small changes etc. as needed. One of your responsibilities will be to fix what I screw up on an ongoing basis.
I am really wanting someone with an understanding of basic SEO principles. I don't need an SEO expert, because we will be implementing my own SEO strategies. I just want you to understand why I am doing what I am doing.
I need you to be available and be able to offer honest assessments of how difficult various projects will be in order for me to prioritize various projects.
I wish for you to be able to communicate effectively in English and brainstorm through various ideas I will present. Most importantly I am looking for someone that I feel comfortable dealing with and will work efficiently. Availability through IM and email on a daily basis during a project is critical.
One month I may have a couple small projects that take a couple of days and the next month might have a project that takes up your entire month. Turnaround time is important.
The last freelance programmer I hired has implemented many of the techniques I employ in managing various aspects of websites and SEO work and is now no longer a programmer, but a very successful site owner. Better yet, he is a good friend and trusted confidant... but no longer able to devote time to my various projects.
Cost is pretty critical and I hope for a fair assessment of the time commitment required of a project when I describe it. You must be willing to adapt and make changes in the middle of a project because I will be constantly asking for changes etc.
Please reply with your hourly rate and a description of your expertise. I will contact you as needed and might give some work to several people to determine which person I wish to deal with. I am not looking for a company who assigns the programming to employees or subcontractors. I need to be dealing directly with the person doing the coding.
