I registered a domain from a webhost (This was when I first started, and didn't know better :bah: ).

I need to change the name servers on it, but don't have the username/password for the account to change them. The guy who owned the Web Hosting company is either at Boot Camp or in Iraq, so the web hosting company is closed and I have no way to contact him to get this information.

I did whoIS of the domain and the technical contact is EV1 Servers.

What can I do to retrieve the Username/Password? All of the whoIS information on mine is correct if that helps.

Thanks! :)

I think you could open an enom account here at namepros, with the same info that's listed within you who-is, and then initiate a transfer of the domain name. This should bring it over to the new account where you’ll be able to adjust the DNS settings. Might take a couple of days, but it's a solution.

Thanks Don for the reply.

Thats probably what I'm going to have to do. I started it, but it said I needed $8.88 for the transfer (And I'm guessing renewal). Is there a way around this? I don't need it renewed for a few more months still.

Thanks! :)

This may be a blessing to have a few months because some places won't let you transfer 60 days before you have to renew. I don't know of a way around it, and it only adds to your time.

Good Luck with the transfer.

PM me the domain, and i will see what we can figure out.

A simple transfer intent may not work, as you maybe must authorize the transfer from the original account.
