Hi,

I want to optimize my blog as much as I can.
And now I wanted to change my URL's to good looking SEO friendly URL's

I use wordpress for my blog, and I can change it in the admin page.

At the moment I have default links like: kingnomar.com/?p=123

And there is a option: "Custom structure"

This is what I fill in: /%post_id%/%postname%/

This are the correct variables for wordpress and how I want the url's to show up. When I click on "Update Permalink Structure" it is saying: You should update your .htaccess now.

But what do I need to do know? I know the .htaccess file should be in my main directory which i can access true FTP. but what do I have to write in the .htaccess file?? or what to do ??

Help is very appreciated !!

Thanks in advance,
Nomar

[EDIT] I am sorry, I did not look further than my nose was long everytime.. but i accidentally scrolled to the bottom page and there were the lines i should write into .htacces

and now the problem is fixed and i have nice looking URL's with ID en post name....

Thanks anyways [/EDIT]

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
It should generate some code for you, that's what you copy and paste in the .htaccess file...or....

You could go into your FTP, CHMOD the .htaccess file to "777", then, go to the structure page, click "Save" or whatever, and it saves it automatically. :)
