Well, I have a Domain that I totally forgot I owned. It is concretetactics(.)com. I had a little blog on it awhile back but it is parked at sedo right now.

So I did a search on yahoo and found that it is number one on yahoo if you search concrete tactics out of like a few million. My question is does this make this domain of value? I was going to make a skateboarding Blog out of the site, do you think that would be a good idea?

I get an N/A for Page Rank on: http://www.prchecker.info

How many folks are searching for "concrete tactics" daily ... and can you monetize the domain name for its position on Yahoo? Tell us some more about "concrete tactics" ... :gl: :talk:

Best of Luck.

Thanks for the Reply but could you just type "concrete tactics" in the Yahoo search and then look at the first site.

Why would you use another site to see the ranking. Is that site better than using Yahoo?

I prefer Google ranking, yes ... but I'm just trying to get more information from you with respect to the need and demand of "concrete tactics" (on any level of search)? IMHO. :gl:

Thanks again for the insight.

I see. Well, I am still really new to all this so what happened was I just did a search and found that my site was at the Top of yahoo search. Now I am just trying to see if I build a blog of something would it change the rank or would it be better just to park the site and see how much traffic I could get.

Yes, good idea ... park it for minimum 4 -6 months to see if it gets any meaningful traffic and click-through's, IMHO. :gl:

All the best!

Four searches for it. No sponsor links.

I couldn't see the domain in Yahoo without using the quotes ("concrete tactics"). Since almost noone uses quotes when they search, this is a non-issue to me.

When when I go the domain, it has ads for "games"...

Searching for the keyword phrase in Google and Yahoo shows NO ads, so companies are not bidding on the phrase. A search for "concrete" does show ads, so they are either filtering it out or only bidding on very targeted words.

Using the Google estimater it tells me there are no searches to speak of for "concrete tactics", but there are a lot for "concrete", so I would park it with the word "concrete".

But the domain might do better parked somewhere else where you can add construction images and customize it more. A blog on concrete and construction might work really well, and you may be able sell it to a company in that industry at some point. Skateboarding might work as well as other things like gaming, but I think there is more money in construction. Yup, the bids are a little higher for computer gaming, but the number of searches for construction is about 4 times higher...

Thanks Jeff. I will give that a try.

I have one last question. Every where I read people are trying to get a top search on Google to get traffic. Now my question is why are they not going for Yahoo? Is Google better than Yahoo? I hope everyone understands what I am asking.

Generally speaking, yes ... by a factor of Infinite - to - 1, in my experience. :gl: :lala:
