Need help with blogger

I have a blog with blogger.com and would like to use my own custom domain on it , i have right now forwarded my domain to my blog url .Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to link my domain to my blog .
Also is it a good option to use my own hosting or host by blog with blogger itself . Oh my domain is Onlinediscountblog.com and my blogger url is http://dealsandcouponsonline.blogspot.com/

for me the best is keep the cname on the domain.com (without www)
and have www do 301 redirect to domain.com

What do you mean? how is this done , sorry this thing of linking my domain with blogger is a little confusing for me .

i would just get hosting and use wordpress that comes free in cpanel its easy to use and looks better and you can alot free mods to use with it too
