I am trying to transfer a domain from an Enom account to Godaddy.

The transfer keeps getting declined by godaddy saying my authorization code is bad. I am using the authorization info/epp key listed with the domain at Enom but it seems not to be working. I contacted godaddy and they said that it is Enoms responsibility to help me. I have not been able to get any help from Enom.

Is there something I might be doing wrong?

I checked to make sure the domain was active and able to be transferred and it is.
I get no help from either registrar maybe some one here has an idea.

-Thank you for your time.

Email enom again, I know you said you did but I'd try again. If you have all the authrozation codes it should work, but I have never transferred to godaddy so I dunno if it's the same as other places or not..

Authorization codes are usually case-sensitive. Are you copying and pasting the code or inputting it manually?

This has happened to me a few times. Domainsite's transfer system will change the authorization code to lower case when first entered. You have to go back and input the code again once the transfer request has been registered.

Just a thought.

How far are you getting in the actual transfer process?

Thanks for both of you giving me some help...

...as to re-emailing I did try that it has been almost 48 hours on the first email and 24 on the second.....and I have had no response....tomarrow I will call them.

...as to the case sensitive aspect I have cut and pasted the epp as well as typed it in manually both about 5 times...the only thing is, that all the letter are listed as lower case and the numbers are..well numbers......

Once again thank you both greatly for the fantastic ideas.

I am getting through the part at godady where they provide you(with email) with the two transfer codes to move the domain from the prior account to godaddy.
It is getting declined where they ask for the authorization info/ epp key....godaddy is stating it is an invalid code.

If godaddy is stating an invalid code, but enom gave it to you. Then it mush be a problem within the godaddy system. I think you should try them again.

Make sure the other party has unlocked the domain name. The transfer may be getting snagged this way. It would be great if you posted the exact message. Trust me, sometimes the message does not say "exactly" what the problem is.

I have worked extensively with both GoDaddy and Enom and I am really not a fan of either. If you are getting to the authorization stage and that is where it is hung up, and you are sure they authorization code is correct, then it may still be locked.

Just a thought, another look at it, another angle. I mention this because as the saying goes...been there; done that.

Copy and paste the message if contacting the seller to ensure it is unlocked does not work.

This is the email from godaddy......

Dear Aaron Boling,

Your request to transfer the domain name 0DF.COM has failed.
Please contact your current registrar for the domain to find out why
the transfer was rejected. Your transfer request will remain active
in our system for 30 days, after which time it will expire. Once any
standing issues have been resolved with your current registrar, you
will be free to reinitiate the transfer through us as long as the
transfer has not expired.

You may be able to resolve the error simply by resubmitting the
domain transfer request.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You may be asked to log in to resubmit your transfer request.
To safely log in:
1. Go to the GoDaddy.com Web site. Be sure you're at the
GoDaddy.com home page (instead of clicking on unidentifiable
links, pop-ups, etc.).
2. Select "My Account" from the home page. Enter your
log in name (or customer number) and password. Then, click
"Secure Login."
3. In your account management area, select "Pending Domain
Transfers" from the list.
4. Select the transfers you wish to retry and then click
the "Retry" button to proceed.
This is the status listed in my domain control center under pending transfers...
____.COM Invalid Auth Code camille7_7 @yahoo.com
I have tried the authorization code given by enom a million times and have tried it many different ways, capitalizing, then lower case, copy and paste, and manually typing it in, I have even tried taking off a part of the code.
The domain is unlocked and active and is able to be transferred.
The email messages from Godaddy are really no help.
The customer service from Godaddy tells me to talk to enom.
Still no answer from Enom.
Thank you all for the help you have provided so far.
____.COM Invalid Auth Code camille7_7 @yahoo.com
A couple of other possibilities...you two may not be talking about the same domain name. There may be a typo in the doman name itself that is snagging this up. You may have entered the wrong domain for transfer or the holder at enom entered the wrong domain name on their end.
Usually, enom accounts and reseller accounts are held by an individual. The auth code most of the time does not come directly from enom but will come from the seller/reseller. If the seller has similar looking domain names, they made have made a simple mistake.
If you have an invalid auth. code, then it is enom...GoDaddy has nothing to do with auth codes. Those come from the losing registrar, in this case enom and a reseller most likely.
Contact the seller directly. Go into the WHOIS database.
The person who sold the domain name will have to physically go into the control panel and get the authorization code. They will have to send this to you.
But make sure you are both talking the same domain name...letter for letter, number for number, TLD for TLD.
Once again thanks for everyones help....the issue is resolved and the domain is getting transfered.
Enom came through with flying colors on the customer support end.
They had the wrong epp key....and they updated it and all is cool.
Thank you all for your help.
-Thank you for your time.
