I'm being serious, I keep finding names that I feel compelled to register. Most of the time they are the only TLD left and have okay numbers. Sometime if a name fits the .TV TLD I ignore the numbers and think of the type of channel that the name will lend itself too. I searched almost all night and came up with the following. I really need to know if I'm way off base and have lost perspective or if these names are really worth the $25 fee to register. Please be honest!!!! Are these names grasping at straws??

driven.tv
renters.tv
photographing.tv
photographed.tv
broadcasted.tv
spoke.tv
needlepoint.tv

I would say that driven, is your best bet here. I would pay reg fee for that name as for the others they are not striking me.

Remember stay away from the late night reg! D-:

poodlemen,

my take on watching your regs over the last few weeks is that you need to slow down a bit, with a particular emphasis on slowing down on regging verbs and adjectives. Try to stick to nouns that correlate with product categories.

cheers,

Exactly Antonis I see very little value in Adverbs and Adjectives Speak.tv cool Spoke.tv? I don't get it just my IMO -ed or -ing There are some cases where ing works like Boating or Sailing I never see -ed working. Now I think you got a great name in Renters Renters.tv Keyword great for SEO, Develop it into channels like Condo channel, home channel, penthouse channel, city, suburbs etc.... Now airing on RentersTV AIMCO's new complex in San Diego whatever.... but you can geo target your advertising for each section then you go and contact major Property companies in big cities and get a video about their properties, You can probably get advertising sponsorships for Premium Placing. You can go past the 360 degree walkthroughs and give full video. Regging .tv names everyday is just not worth it pick one or two in a week. Renters.tv could be a self sustaining business IMO Driven is ok IMO worth taking a chance on a quick flip to a small budget car enthusiast and maybe an end user comes along and pays you high xxx to low x,xxx

Equity,

Thanks for taking the time to respond the way you did. My logic behind the ing or verb, is that when it has to do with some sort of occupation, hobby, or service, it can serve well as an effective "poor mans substitute" to the root word and still work, especially when in virtually every case the root word or noun is a premium name that cost way more then $25 per year to register. These are all words I have acquired ending in ING so far:

adopting
animating
communicating
cooling
detailing
developing
digitizing
distributing
domaining
joking
phonecasting
moviemaking
photographing
preaching
sending
televising
towing
tubing
linking
walking
canoeing
planting

Now I'm not claiming that entire list above are winners but in almost every case .TV was the only TLD left to register. Now to me when you have a verb that describes something, has decent search results and can have a dedicated channel, it seems worth the $25 fee to me to take a flyer on it. In some cased I plan on developing myself. The premium factor is big part of these buys as well. Granted, when someone is going to pay big money to have a tow.tv, when I can have towing.tv for $25 and still have the word "towing" with a OVT of 268,883 How can I pass that up? Now most OVT aren't close to that high, but my point is that If 25% of the list above hits, then they pay for all the others.

Is my logic wrong? Don't get me wrong, i do have a number or nouns in my portfolio and agree that they are the most valuable in many cases, but what if the noun is a premium? To me the verb works good in this case, especially with the .TV TLD and that fact that you are describing the content on the channel in a single and rare single word from the standpoint that all others are taken for basic registration fee.

As far as the "ed" ending i agree for the most part except in cases where you develop. I think broadcasted was worth the flier because it is a word that describes the essence of what the .TV tld is about and lends itself well to development.

Please slam my way of thinking if you do not agree.

Poodleman,

No one here wants to slam your way of thinking. I think we are all looking out for your best interests. I have to say, you have been stuck on the -ing ending for way too long, there is -ist which directly implies a job or a hobby and there are tons of these left, -ed like you said, they are tough to make work, -ology which is the best IMO. There are stall a few of those left and they are usually attached to science names. -ion on the end of alot of names are workable, example animation which sounds great. My favorite is adding an -s on the end of words, I always try to find a premium unregistered name and ad an -s to it if possible. You can easily find lists and lists of these words online and just trial and error. I generally agree with your methods and techniques, but I think you need to move on to greener pastures before completely causing deforestation in one niche. Its like oil, major oil companies will suck out a small portion oil from a well before moving on to another well because it is more efficient. They leave fairly prosperous mines behind in favor of oil that is more easily accesible. Once the barrels per day start to decline below what another field can do they sub contract it out to smaller companies that speialize in deep digging and oil reclamation. You need to move on to other suffixes and prefixes. Not too mention if you can register things like Lifeguard or Hiker as I have been able to do on occasion, you should do so. I know you already know this, but I must urge you to check equally as deep in other niches. You have not lost it, you have just gone a little overboard. You havent been making the worst regs, just not the best possible ones. I always look forward to seeing and reviewing your latest registrations, I just hope you arent registering for the pure fun and addiction factor as i have done in the past.

Best of luck!

You can't think premium costs $500/yr, this is like premium but worse so someone will pay $200 for it. That is a strategy for mediocre results. You should aim for the absolute best name out there for your money and you need to think about what one could do with that name, regardless of if there are premiums around or not. Also, some premiums are completely silly.

Some of the names above are great: Canoeing for example is a great name because that is what the sport is actually called. Well worth $25.

Moviemaking is superb for the same reason and Detailing is also good.

Photographing on the other hand is not great. The field is called: Photography and people in the field call themselves Photographer/s

Planting is the same thing. People grow Plants and call this hobby Gardening. They do not, as a general rule, join a Planting club or go to a Planting store.

That is very nice advice.

Remember stay away from the late night reg!
And this is the best of all!

Always give yourself one night of sleep to rethink, even though you risk loosing it the next morning...
