advice Need advice from senior members

I'm new in domaining, but I have more than 20 years of experience in judiciary and real estate business. When I was starting a year ago, I discovered a „niche“ which I find very exciting and promising. Basically, it is a large-scale project which is still under development, his value is measured in billions and, if finished according to plan, it will be of global significance. I took a huge gamble on it and during past year discreetly regged everything I considered relevant on that matter. Now I feel that it is time to move that idea further but I'm not sure in its value and what to do next, so I wanted to share my find with more experienced domainers.

Is it good idea to go public or is it wiser to share portfolio with just a few veteran members via PM?

If you are looking for a more diversified opinion, go public. Just getting the opinions from vets is fine, but you have to realize that many old-timers in the industry have developed a "tunnel-vision" approach, and are impossible to sway towards new ideas. At least if you go public, you will likely get both ends of the spectrum: those with experience, as well as young guns and their fresh perspective.

Niche that I mentioned is IFEZ;

The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) was established with the intent of its becoming one of the future top three economic zones in the world by the year 2020. IFEZ is planned to be a self-contained living and business district featuring air and sea transportation, a logistics complex, an international business center, financial services, residences, schools, hospitals, shopping and entertainment centres.

In 2007, Incheon declared itself an "English City," and inaugurated the "Incheon Free English Zone" program. The goal of the program is to make Incheon as much an English speaking city as Hong Kong and Singapore are. This is for the ultimate purpose of establishing IFEZ as a commercial and business hub of northeast Asia.

Songdo International Business District (Songdo IBD) - new smart city or "ubiquitous city" is built from scratch on 600 hectares (1,500 acres) of reclaimed land along Incheon's waterfront. It is part of the IFEZ.

Songdo IBD is 10-year development project, estimated to cost in excess of $40 billion, making it one of the most expensive development projects ever undertaken and the largest private real estate development in history. Gale International holds a majority stake of 61%, Posco 30%, and the remaining 9% is owned by Morgan Stanley Real Estate. Songdo IBD is 75% completed.

Part of the IFEZ is Midan City. Midan City is an integrated casino resort development project to vitalize Korea’s tourism service industry. It is considered the optimum location for the clustering of integrated casino resorts. South Korea has granted approval to US firm „Caesars Entertainment“ to open a casino with Indonesian conglomerate Lippo.

To me there are chances for trademark infringements / squatting?

The intention of registering is very hard to deny (until I missed something).

you only got one buyer? (Or is it more like an US company wanting to have geo domain - in that case some of your domains make lots of sense)

I cited Wikipedia about popularization of English language in the Korean city of Incheon. That emphasizes its international character, which is good in domaining context

Basicaly, IFEZ is Korean attempt to create their own Dubai or Hong Kong counterpart, using benefits of its geographic position and thriving Korean economy, while relying on the main Korean seaport and airport, which are part of it.

It is Korean public project backed with domestic and international investors. Besides US based Gale International, one of the major players is Posco. Warren Buffett for last 10 years held 5% of their shares, and in 2015. Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia agreed to pay $1.1 billion for a 38 percent stake in Posco’s engineering unit., AFAIK.

Government, investors and media actively promoting term IFEZ not just as the project name, but as a geographical fact. This megalopolis with all its parts that are still being built and planned is called IFEZ. That makes my domains purely GEO, and therefore removes trademark issues, if any, IMO.

Idea was to offer whole portfolio to the Gale international or Posco, so that they can use it for promotional and marketing purposes and eventually resell domains separately to their clients.

Since I'm the worst trader in galaxy, I still haven't done anything on that matter...

Do you think that portfolio is good enough for some serious broker?

This is just my personal opinion, don't take it as your decision :

1. It depends if people in the future will call the "Cities" as IFEZ, then the domains such as IFEZhotels.com can be considered as Geo Domains. But again depending how the IFEZ can attract investors, as per the video their is no special tax for investing, impacting less local investors. Also this is long term plan, and you will need to calculate your renewal fees.
2. Same comments with Songdo
3. MidanCity might be too long, people might refer the city as Midan ... i do not see a good investment for domains starting with MidanCity compared with Midan
4. same comment for songdoIBD, might be better to have only starting with Songdo only
5.Be carefull with non .coms, especially new TLD's, are their realy people going to buy
6. Also remember that the big investors in that area might not be knowledgable of domain business, if that is the case will need to realy find domain investors that would like to purchase the portfolio
