I have a few domains that I have had for years. I got an email from domain agents that someone wanted to buy one. The offer was $1000. I countered with $12,500 just as a random amount because I am not sure I want to give it up just yet. The buyer countered back with $2500. Now this has me wondering just what the value is. The domain is 7letters, has a real 6 letter word with another letter at the end. It’s a .com and is almost 10 years old.

Then this got me thinking about some of my other domains that I have just sitting. In particular, one I registered in 1999, 10 letter real word .com.

Regarding the offer, what would you do? I don’t want to get rid of it for 2500, obviously, if I could get more. But the fact that the offer/counter offer came out of the blue makes me wonder.

Thanks for guidance.

Welcome to NP.

Nobody will give you an advice without knowing the domain. It may be a gem or a total crap.
These days $2500 offer per random domain is a decent offer, but it's totally up to you. You may try to get a better deal, but you may scare off the buyer. Good luck tho.

Possitive or negetive meaning of the word you mentioned, that will make how much money you can get from the domain name.

Oh, so it’s okay to do that? Stitchx . com. Right now it’s just a branding image as I’ve not had time to develop it (and probably won’t anytime soon).

Personally, I would take the offer, but it is not on me at all. Just make sure to be careful for an appraisal scam.

You may want to edit your post and make a space between Stitchx & .com :xf.wink:

Depending on the domain name, you might be able to get more. I think you were smart to counter at a higher number. There is a company with a similar name that I thought of the moment I saw your domain name.

Best of luck and let us know how it ends. I hope you get the 12.5k. :)

Hi

it's a nice brandable for "niche` clothing startup", and the time to capitalize has yet to reach it's plateau.

Good Luck!

imo...

There's also st|tch labs pushing that name for upcoming product. There has been an uptick in keyword+x names lately as they're good for exchanges catering the crypto markets. If you don't need the money counter 10, maybe meet at 6. If this were my hand registration, I would sell as it's a fair price for the name.

If you owned it for a very long time and this is the only offer you had on the domain. Then it would be tempting to sell (one more counteroffer at most). But we can only give very general advice when we don't know the name. Good Luck

I see you posted the name. A Stich looks like an X so nothing wrong with holding out for more on this Good Luck

The name is good but not great. Keyword + X pattern domains are generally sells well because of their unique brandablity but in this particular case the keyword "Stitch" has very limited application. Considering buyer's offer and domain name I think you should aim for $4K to $5K. And imo you might not get another serious offer soon. Good luck!

The domain is certainly memorable, And 'X' in stitch patterns is recognisable as a reference and pattern, $4 to $5k as a .com seems a reasonable ask. If I could do with the money at the time I would probably take the offer. If it was mine today I would probably push to 3.5k expecting an immediate acceptance. If they don't take it immediately let them lose it

Personally I'd recounter with $3.5k, if he/she counters (probably with $3k) then I'd accept.
