Need a little help and idea sharing

This is my first time messing around with VBulletin skins and I'm working on a BSDTechTalk community to help administrators using BSD out. I am kind of at a standstill if I should stop where I am or keep going. Frankly my graphic skills are pretty much at the max of where they can go currently (talking about the buttons and the icons). Any pointers, ideas would greatly be appreciated.

It looks okay, though the header needs more work, I think. The stripes on the header distract a bit, and the yellow outer glow on the text doesn't really go well with the color scheme.

You might want to make the edges of your buttons transparent, since they don't look good when placed in another backgrounc color. Try using pixel fonts for your "New Thread" buttons so the text won't look blurry.
