Nebraska Networks | SCAM Warning

Argh,

Just got of the MSN IM with Gayle, of NeNet (Nebraska Networks). Well, in all, it ended up in them stating that myself using 3GB of bandwidth was super high and because of that my server has been online with absolutely no downtime whatsoever.

The main thing, I bought a server is June and paid for a month in advance. The server was online for about 5 days and then which began experiencing technical problems, in which Nenet did not resolve, they were never around for the month pretty much. I ask for a partial refund of 40%, $40, in which they aren't very understanding about.

Some parts of the conversation:

Gayle: what admin tool are you using?
Me: Directadmin
Gayle: how do we access it?
Me: http://216.81.**.*:2222/

They are a server company, shouldn't they know this?

Gayle: sorry, we do not issue refunds unless the server is offline or we are notified, neither of which has been the case

The server has been offline at times, they are refusing to understand this.

Gayle: where did you move your sites
Me: I transferred them to a friends hosting businesxs
Gayle: is that friend neomedia
Me: No
Gayle: or simon

The fact that they are asking these sort of questions, when a different matter is in place, ....

Gayle: for the last 20 days, your IP was the 3rd ranked highest user of bandwidth out of 20 some servers, neomedia was 2nd but never bothered to pay
Me: I used 3 GB of bandwidth out of my 1000GB allotment, how is that high?
Gayle: it's not high, but most people use about 1% or less, it just proves usage

If 3 GB of bandwidth is 5% on there logs, most users of servers are using less than 800MB of bandwidth? I find that hard to believe...

Gayle: Ok, I am done argueing with you. You received services regardless of how much you used them. I have the logs to prove uptime. Paypal will issue a chargeback for goods only. I had the same deal with neomedia... Go ahead and file a complaint. I will email the logs to paypal and they will refuse the claim. I will not argue with you about this.

We weren't argueing :), he/she was telling me a false story...

The Final Bits:

Gayle: my company attorney is Welch Law Firm in Omaha, NE. please feel free to contact them if you need any information.... I am done playing games with you...

Me: I'm not playing games, I am trying to get the issue resolved in an appropriate manner, in which you aren't understanding.

Gayle: well, that is fine.... please use email from now on in communicating with me.. I am done with this..

Gayle: bye

Joe sends me the following log file:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
They seem very unprofessional with handling problems :guilty:

Just look at Nenet.net's website, I think it speaks for itself... Not a reputable company I've ever heard of until the issue with Neomedia

LMFAO looks like a home based "datacenter" somewhere in the basement with 20 computers set up to a 1mbps network, by the sound of it :/

Yes, I agree. Also, when I asked for the datacenters address for my BBB complaint, Gayle said:

Me: Is the address on your website the address of the datacenter?
Gayle: it is an address that we can be contacted at.
Me: Whats the address of your datacenter?
Gayle: where my datacenter is located is not important

Looks like they are running it from there home...

Rackforce.com isnt bad ;) I love them <3! They always give me there: Fast Attack support! When they say fast, its fast ;) They are VERY understanding people as well, if you have a problem they will fix it up, or tell you the linux command to do it yourself... (so you can learn...) they say it nice too :)

But yea, thats in his basement... he probally has a few yard machine generators lol

I agree, but I do highly recommed Managed (http://managed.com), they have reasonable prices, I'm not so sure about there support though...

Just got the response, I'm replying to it now:

The customer purchased "access" to a dedicated server on our internet connection. After he had access to the computer for over a month, he contacted us to say he was unable to access the server and wanted a refund. We consulted our logs and they showed plenty of usage on that server, in fact, he was the third largest user of bandwidth out of all of our customers that month. We can email the usage logs to you for inspection if you desire. We cannot refund in this situation. We are not responsible for access trouble if the purchaser is not qualified or trained to use the software necessary to administer the system. John is a very young person, and he seems unqualified or untrained with the software he was attempting to use. John never emailed us to report a problem for the entire month which is another support method of communication. He states he didn't have our email address but he emailed us before (which we also have that email in our records.) Thank you.

Oh, I'm going to reply all right... If I'm untrained to use it, they are? They didn't even know how to access the control panel. I had there e-mail address, I sent numerous messages, their preferred method is IM, in which they were never online for the duration of the month.

Just a note, I didn't read through the entire thread (didn't have enough time), but I live in Omaha, Nebraska. If you wish me to pay a polite visit to the firm, I will. :)
