Near Hits and Misses...

Every once in a while, when DNJournal lists the week's domain sales, I find a domain very similar to one I own. Last week, it was hookit.com (sold for 2K); I own hookedit.com. Pretty darn close, except for the 2K not in my bank.

I'm hoping the similarity will help mine sell, but no bites yet.

What near hits and misses have you had? Have any sold?

I missed sex.com sale.
I have esex.us and sxe.biz

No really... I think usually high $$$$ sales always done for the real things.
No near the name or almost the name.
But as I always said , no rules in this game.

In May of last year I almost registered a .net poker domain that is now a very well known and publicized brand for a gambling company. I’m guessing I would have been able to get between $10,000 to $20,000 for it from this billion dollar company. It wouldn’t have made it on ton the DNJournal.com chart though, because those company’s always require a NDA.


BTW, I owned ePartnerCash.com when PartnerCash.com sold for $100,000, however, I sold the domain for a little bit less than Rick Schwartz sold his name for, about $99,997.80 less.
