So I regged a domain, Listed Up, immediately thinking "Cool, I'll make an app." And now I've decided to make that app. Let's say that that app allows you to list your junk for sale, creating an individual catalog for each user. I got already excited about the idea and would like to hear your thoughts about the strength/merits of the name, Listed Up.

My initial reaction when I realized that the name wasn't snatched my a drop-catcher was "Wow, they missed this one because that would make a great name for a lot of apps." But now I'm starting to be more hesitant (because it wasn't drop-catched).

So:

Do you, native English speaker, think it works as a name/brand? Do you think it works well? Works great? Or does the past tense make it clumsy? If so, do you think LinkedIn is clumsy in the same way?

Any kind of feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Viljami

I'm a native English speaker, but I'm senile. do I still qualify?

So we wouldn't be having this conversation if it was drop-caught? I think both ListUp and ListedUp are both clumsy. Yes I think LinkedIn is clumsy in the same way. But they have probably spent millions of dollars developing and promoting their brand. So you could be the next LinkedIn if you have a formula for success and develop and promote your brand :)

Stub said it all already. You just need to power up your conviction and you good to go. The fact that it wasn't drop-caught doesn't mean it got no value.

"Listed Up"

When I read that, I think of/sounds like List It Up, which I think is better.

I would just add, that I think the formula you are proposing, doesn't sound like a world-beater. But I could be wrong.

I am not native English so feel free to discard my comment.
What I have come to understood is that whenever you develop a domain into a website, or an app in this case, then the " quality " of the domain itself become a secondary issue. I am sure you too have noticed it by seeing the websites for sale at Flippa; some of them have really horrible names and they still sell for nice dollars
