Namewinner out of drop business

Just logged onto namewinner and they have announced that all drops will now go through snapnames

We are pleased to announce that domain names previously available for bidding on NameWinner are now available on SnapNames.com. We have partnered with SnapNames to auction Dotster’s expiring domains. Thank God. Namewinner completed sucked. They let people keep bidding on names they didn't even have control of! Their "My auctions" page (or whatever it was called), showed all sorts of crap that made no sense. It was the worst system I'd ever seen. I even stopped using it even if a name was there I wanted because most of the time they didn't really even have it.

Good riddance.

Agreed, it wasn't really possible to search through their dropping domains!

The only reason companies keep raising their prices is because people keep using them. And paying even higher prices for the auction style drops. Which is fine for top quality drops worth hundreds or thousands of dollars, but for lesser good names $60 is a little steep.

sounds like snapnames got the registrar that were working with namewinner . . .

There must be alot of expired domain that never get picked up during the drop process that is worth something . . .
