Anyone else know why it is so hard to list names with Rightofthedot for Namescon? It used to be that you submit names and if they are good, then they get listed. Now, the system is you forward the names to parking crew for stats (while you lose all you own inbounds) while the main auction goes on. There are many great names listed as always but a lot of crap names IMO. How in the world did those get there while while high quality names get the run-around? I miss the good ol days.

I don't know what the 'good ol days" was like because this is my first year submitting names for NamesCon. But I agree that the procedure is frustrating because I forward all my submissions to parkingcrew and lose out on any possible leads during this time frame. Out of 30 names, they added 2 so far to the NamesCon Auction (although I don't know if they will be included in the Live Auction). I am left wondering when (if at all) do they plan to tell me the other 28 names will not be included (so I can change their nameservers back to my own market places). My mistake was putting $0 Reserve on a bunch -- because then they might as well just keep the names pointed to their nameservers for the possibility of free commissions. This isn't right -- just tell me Yes or No. I'm frustrated in the waiting game...

And I also agree there are some great names in the auction, but I also see a lot of junk too...

I think one problem might be they are actually using Estibot in their decision making. One of my names I submitted had a lower Estibot valuation -- so they told me my Reserve was too high over the Estibot number. Are you kidding me???

Yeah, not just me that is frustrated with this procedure. The parking is for testing the traffic - makes sense, but if you know domains, then you know what sells. Like all these .asia and club names - like someone wants closed.asia or xxxfan.club??? Seriously? And then monster cryptos get the parking procedure? And...to top it off, they took two LLLL.com's of mine and put those in the auction. My nameservers were changed per their directions and they resolve only to parking pages - NOT THE AUCTION.

And by the "good ol days" I mean like only two years ago. I put one name in very easily, it went to live auction and everyone was happy. BTW those that make the live auction are those with the most bids (or at least it was at that time).

I asked Monte to provide an update on my name submissions. He replied they felt my names were best suited on their bid / inquiry system where they will help increase value of my domains over time and they would respond to bids and inquiries. He recommended I keep them pointed to their nameservers.

Why wouldn't he -- it's free commission for them if my names sell on their platform

I said thanks anyway for his consideration but that I redirected them back to my own Market Place and asked him to remove them from his system.

Oh well, maybe next year I will submit better names than some of the stuff I see that was already accepted for the NamesCon Auction. </rolls eyes>

I'm in the same position - limbo with no correspondence.

Were you given any confirmation or notification prior to your domains being listed for auction?

Wondering whether I should just pull the plug like @DN_Hunter as well.

I have difficulty agreeing to the terms

It's your property not theirs they should be agreeing to your terms etc

They did not tell me that 2 of my names were in the Auction. I was just browsing the list on a daily basis and then I saw 2 of my names in the auction (although I get the feeling they might not be in the Live Auction -- one has no bids, and the other has a few bids so far). I left those 2 pointed to their Nameservers (even though they have never actually told me those 2 were accepted).

The terms should be simple

Eg

A simple statement that you agree to

Something like

You can still use your existing name servers etc at wherever they point but you add a disclaimer on that page or a redirect to the auction link or if not pointed anywhere you agree that if they sell your domain at above your reserve price you hereby acknowledge you no longer own that domain name

You play ball they play ball easy as pie

They sell you don't play ball they go legal

You play ball they don't you go legal etc

Simple

Hmm - a little bit disappointing that you weren't even notified of its listing. If I may, when did you submit your domains?

I submitted two batches of names.

12/9/2017 - 10 names - 2 names were added to the Auction about 3 or 4 days after
12/23/2017 - 20 names. None of these names have been added to the Auction.

Just yesterday I redirected the names back to my own Market Place (I left the 2 names pointed to their Nameservers that were listed in their Auction).

Understood - thanks for getting back to me.

They've since updated their terms of submission to "only super-premium .com" names. I wonder whether that will be reflected in what they choose to list moving forward.

Would you mind sharing which names were accepted - you can PM me if you'd prefer.

Ive had mine approved and listed, but i think they approved mine just as a trial with them being a not very old extension, .CAM. But the domains are also single word
