I received this message. Is it a scam?

S8Power,

As a member of NamePros with a large domain portfolio, we'd like to offer you a $35 Amazon Gift Card for completing a brief survey for us.

We'd really appreciate it if you could help us out by answering a few questions. Since you're busy and we value your time, we hope the gift card will help.

To get started, please proceed here: http://deploy.ztelligence.com xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This will take no more than 15 minutes to complete, and it must be completed before November 8th. Please note that only the first 300 members will qualify, but we have only sent this to a select few.

If you have any questions about this message, please contact us at [email redacted]

It's not scam. It's legit.

Since we have a lot of money we want to share with our members.

Just leave it here so other 300 members don't have to ask the same question.

Good luck if you enter.

Right. LOL .

I thought its a paid survey probably ordered by a new gTLD company - me thinks by the look of the questions :)

We only just sent them out to specific people. Ours come from an @namepros.com address. If it's not from *@namepros.com, it's not from us.

Please do not share the links. They're meant only for the people who received them, and they're only guaranteed to work once.

There must be a mistake... You never offered me $35. lol

Hmm.. Surveys to promote new gTLDs and Registrar products?

Not good if that is the case-but just my opinion ofcourse. :)

I received this message. Is it a scam?

You can check where emails originate from by seeing the headers and checking the data.

In Gmail click the down-arrow in the top right-ish corner of the message, and then click "show original"
Thunderbird (and probs most other desktop apps) just press Ctrl U.

Might seem scary at first if you're not geeky, but the "from" can be spoofed (very easily) so don't trust that if you suspect anything. Just see where it originally came from by viewing the "Received" sections (they start at the bottom and go in chronological order from bottom to top).

You can paste the header into https://toolbox.googleapps.com/apps/messageheader/ which clears it up a bit for easier reading.

Might help someone :)
