Lost out on a great name at NameJet due to a website error. After bidding I was brought to a blank screen. I spoke with a representative and was told that their entire site was not working and developers were working on the issue. Has anyone else experienced this before? What do you think they will do with the name auctions that ended during the outage, leaving nobody able to bid on the names in the last hour or so?

Damn that is really unlucky. How long has it been down for?

I'm not sure how long it was down, all I know is I lost out on the chance to get a great 4-letter domain because of it.

they have extended auctions in the past, their support is usually helpful

If it is the domain I'm thinking of, I was surprised to see it sell for so low, considering one domainer in particular who was targeting it.

This is a tough call on Namejet's part. On one hand someone believes they have won a domain, and the other a handful of people feel they have been left out of bidding.

If it was me, I would extend the auctions effected for 24 hours.

I think the best option to do is to void all affected sales and relist.

* Its not fair for people who couldn't bid for the sale to stand
* Its not fair for people who did bid and won to lose by it being extended

Yes today. Waited until under a minute left, placed a bid, blank screen. That was with Firebox. Opened up Chrome real quick and it went thru, a few seconds too late.

Bummer. It wasn't working for me in any browser.

I had the same issue. I was unable to bid on that LLLL.com you are referring to as well as another domain with 40+ bidders that went for under $115.

I tried bidding on multiple devices both from the auction itself and last minute board, and nothing worked.
Later on in the day the bidding started working again but it was down for a while.

The days auctions also started @ 4PM EST. Every other day they start at 2PM EST. That might have been related to the glitch as well.

I opened a support ticket but they basically just blew it off. This is part of their response -

I am sorry to hear that you had issues placing a bid for this domain name during its last day. Unfortunately, once the auction has been closed with a winning bidder it can not be re-listed.

That certainly is not the case. In fact less than 3 weeks ago NameJet extended ended auctions that were effected by a glitch - http://www.domaininvesting.com/namejet-extend-auctions-ended-today

This glitch cost NJ a fair amount of money as bidding on that LLLL.com, among others, would have gone far higher.

I guess its a good idea to bid your max early on

Well that's just not the nature of any bidding platform. I've spoken with NameJet twice on the phone trying to get the status on what they are going to do about the names that were unavailable and their response is, "management has not yet made a decision on what's going to happen." All I know, is if they aren't put to auction again they won't see me going down without a fight.

I rather advice you to accept your fate. When you don't have a doubt that it happened with malice, then consider it is a luck or destiny to the winning bidder. Luck or Destiny should work for both of you. In anyway someone will be a winner or a loser.

As human we used to try and influence others and make all sort of understandable reasons and fight against luck or destiny. Getting it will not change the fact that it was not meant for you..and this may have consequences in the future.

They're restarting the auctions, 14 of them, including the one I had issues with:

"The domains to be restarted are listed below. If you were in one or more of these auctions, you will see the domain on your list of active auctions, with the new closing date/time posted in your account. These auctions will be active for three days, starting on August 5, 2014 and ending on August 8, 2014."

So much for luck and destiny. :D :) :D :) :D

Seams like every week now someone is posting on here about NameJet not working..it's either their pages, or their searches, or something... Wonder what the post will be about next week! lol

Update: NameJet has sent all effected domains back to auction for 3 days.

I'd rather see an auction get extended after acknowledging such a glitch that caused downtime, than lose a domain. Of course, some others might disagree.

Namejet has been very unreliable over the past month or so. The site seems like it has a new glitch every day.

As of right now it will not let me refine my searches in any way.

Considering all of the sales on their platform, one would think they would be quick to address these ongoing bugs??

Had the same issue today. Went to bid near the deadline, and got the same error-maintenance page every time.
