they will probably stay an eNom reseller for some time. As people renew their domains they will transfer them over to themselves.

Let's see if they are plagued with the same issues that RF had.

Go Namecheap :)

I remember eNetwork saying about them buying out an accredited registrar awhile back and getting everything ready.

I think he said people will be able to opt to switch to their registrar or stay under their enom reseller.

So what does this mean for people who own enough names at Namecheap.

I wasn't around when RF had their problems.

Please enlighten.

Won't know until NC says what is going to happen.

I hated RF, they had soo many bugs, customer service was atrocious and some of my names kept disappearing or sometimes during registration cart would suddenly go empty.

Namecheap for me has been the best registrar I've used. I've used at least 20-30 different registrars over the past 10 years and since using Namecheap i've never had any problems or when I have, they've been sorted out very quickly.

So hopefully means Namecheap will stay the same or get better. I have lots of names there and I've transfered a whole bunch over from other registrars to Namecheap over the past few months so would hate to see them go down the same road as RF!

Happy to see my favorite registrar being an ICANN accredited registrar now.

Go namecheap.

I hope their control panel stays the same... and it won't end up like RF.

There is nothing to worry about, they have been working on this for months to make sure it's very smooth.

It was long overdue and they have 100K names under management I believe :)
No longer cost-effective to remain an Enom reseller.

Some info from Richard

Hello,

Not to worry, we have put alot of thought into this transition. Wether you choose to remain with the status quo or transfer to the new registrar will be entirely up to you. You will not be forced to transfer and you won't notice any difference in your control panel if the domain remains with our partner. You will manage your domains exactly the same way.

The only incentive we will give you if you do choose to transfer over, is a lower renewal rate for dealing with the hassle. Either way, your domains will be perfectly fine and protected under the same control panel.

If you have any further questions just let me know.

Thanks to everyone else who wished us well in this thread. We certainly do appreciate it. These are exciting times at NameCheap.com. :)

I have to admit, this is wonderful news. I've seen the NameCheap interface, contacted their customer service, and thought, "Wow, these people would be great on their own instead of being with eNom."

Now it's come true. I just hope there won't be too much trouble with the transition. My only concern is if customers will be able to register all the same TLDs once they're on their own.

Yeah I love NC's interface. Their support is pretty quick to respond.

They don't have a wide variety of TLD's right now but I think they'll have them all or Richard would of said in his post.
