Hello!

The other namecheap coupon codes expired (bestvalue, evenlower and save7933), so I had to search for new ones. It wasn't easy, but here they are. Tested and working:

Yaffaspecial - $0.90 off registration and renewal

MORE4LESS - $0.89 off .com registration

Hope you like it.

BYEBYEGD is working now. Just used it to transfer 10 domains for a total of $39.90 and gives free private whois for a year on each domain too B-)

I think the $3.99 transfer ends at midnight tonight. I used it for 10 of our domains yesterday.

It's also interesting to note that once you transferred your domain to Namecheap, eventhough your domain life will get extended to include the unused months of the year from your previous registrar, your Whoisguard Private Whois subscription will only be exactly 1 year.

Which means by next year, your private whois will end much sooner than your domain.

In contrast with registrars like Netfirms, their free private whois extends to the entire life of your domain registration with them.

I would not expect NameCheap to provide their free whois past the one year that we pay for. If a domain had 5 years would you expect them to cover those as well? If netfirms does that then it's very nice indeed.

Does netfirms allow you to "move" whois protection from one domain to another or add unused subscriptions to extend protection on one domain? Namecheap does or at least used to. You should be able to take all of your whois subscriptions and put them on one domain.

Tip: Your Namecheap whois subscriptions start to expire if you use them or not. To preserve extra subscriptions, use them to extend an existing subscription. :) But you cannot later remove the second subscription if you want to use them for a different domain. Once you use a subscription to extend one, you don't have two anymore buy one long one.

For Netfirms, you don't have to. Because private whois is tied to your domain as a default feature. It's not a subscription service, unlike with Namecheap/Name/GD. As long as your domains are with them, your private whois stays at no additional cost.

Too bad netfirms seldom offer renewal discounts. And if a 3.99 transfer coupon from another registrar comes along, it definitely will save your wallet to farm some domains out.

Which really makes it very confusing to track your private whois subscriptions if you move them around your portfolio. Imagine if you have 500+ domains with mismatch private whois deadlines for every domain. it's a headache.

That was their plan, but they have now extended the promotion until midnight tonight (EST)

Hi Flora,

You can use SPRINGLIGHT for a 88cent discount :)
Or if you have more than 50 domains on your Namecheap account you can use GOLDDEAL.

$4.99 Domain Transfers from Namecheap.com (limit 10 per user)

Due to the controversy brewing from Godaddy's CEO, Bob Parson's, shooting an elephant, Namecheap.com is offering $4.99 domain transfers (limit 10 per user)

We’ve decided to throw our support behind our Elephant friends by offering domain transfers at a price where we actually lose money.

Show your protest by saying BYEBYEGD again and transfer your domains to Namecheap for $4.99 for the next 24 hours through 11:59pm EST on 3/31/11 (limit 10 per user).
On top of that, we’ll donate $1 for each transfer to Save The Elephants at savetheelephants.org

Thanks for the heads-up but it doesn't appear to work if used last time they had a promotion with this code. I get 'Coupon code maximum usage exceeded' message even though I was only attempting to transfer 10 domains.

I decided to try Namecheap last time with their coupon in spite of some issues with LegitScript.

I've actually had need for their support and it was a very positive experience. Their panel is also easy to use, imho.

Plus BP is an ASSHAT

That was an error because the coupon hit the limit for the super bowl promotion.

It is now working. Try it again, I just transferred my last Godaddy domains out to namecheap :)

Sorry, just to confirm: this is limited to 10 domains, right?

Also, if I create an account, can I set name servers before names have transferred to minimize downtime?
