Umm after searching I could not find a renewal code for a .com so transferred the name out using code 199BUYCOM for just over $2 to godaddy.

My point is.. Namecheap just lost a sale. You would think at a time many are watching the $ more they would want to help alittle and keep the custom?

I think namecheap doesn't have renewal discounts for the same reason registerfly ran into problems surviving - they aren't a registrar, they are only a reseller. Namecheap is just one huge custom interface into enom and enom has crushed any profit margins. I suspect namecheap is in trouble.

Cheap transfers in but no reasonable renewals does not sustain a business.

They have been a registrar for some time now, but probably still have many old names on the Enom platform.

Anyone buying 50 registrations @ nearly $9 each is wasting money.

They should at least give a percentage based discount on renewals, ie. 10% on spending $20-$25 or more
