Namecheap coupons and discounts

Hello!

The other namecheap coupon codes expired (bestvalue, evenlower and save7933), so I had to search for new ones. It wasn't easy, but here they are. Tested and working:

Yaffaspecial - $0.90 off registration and renewal

MORE4LESS - $0.89 off .com registration

Hope you like it.

DOMAINS FROM $4.99 - SUPERB OFFER FROM NC

Register NEW .com / .net / .org domains for $5.99 using code SAVEBIG

Transfer .com / .net / .org domains for $4.99 using code SAVEBIG

Transactions should be made separately for transfers and renewals otherwise code may not work. This is the best offer I've come across in a long long time! And luckily its at one of my top 3 registrars - makes it all the sweeter.

Offer ends 30th September 2010.

:)

Just transferred a ton over to Namecheap and more soon! :bingo:

Is the 100-domain limit per coupon code so that you can use one coupon for 100 domains and a second one for another 100 domains?

I transferred 60 domains to namecheap using SAVEBIG, but today, when I wanted to transfer some more, I found out that the coupon is not working anymore. I thought it is valid until September 30 :(

You're lucky you transferred as many as you did. I only transferred five names as I was going to transfer the rest on the 30th, but the promo is over. It's over because namecheap reached their limit. :(

Whois contacts all changed to NameCheap after transfer

It seems NameCheap reached "their" limit even if you did not reach yours.

There is something else that I just discoverd and you may want to check any domains you transfered to NameCheap:

I use a domain monitoring service to tell me when things change on my domains. I noticed today that ownership (registrant) was changed from me to Namecheap for a domain that I had just transfered to them.

I did NOT add whois privacy. It seems that all the contact data was lost and replaced with Namecheap information. I have transfered domains to NC before and never had this kind of problem before. I just updated the contact information for ALL my domains, and you may want to check yours to see if you need to update them as well. I hope it is just my domains that had this problem, but I was lucky to catch it...!!!

Update: I just got this message from Namecheap support:
Hello Chris,

Thank you for letting us know about this issue. We really appreciate it. The issue has been forwarded to our developers for investigation. It should be fixed shortly.

As for the privacy protection feature, WhoisGuard subscription is added for free to the Namecheap account automatically once the transfer is over. You will need just to enable it for your domain.

I noticed the change in the contact information as well. It may be that the whois privacy came free. Just click on the name you want to change and enter your (new) details.

There is a promo (switch2nc) for Namecheap that takes $1 off of transfer.

Another little peeve I have about namecheap is they cutoff domains as expires at midnight on their own server time, when domains actually have expire times in UTC from the time they were actually registered.

So for example if you register a domain on October 1st at 10pm at night, it should not expire until 10pm the next October 1st (assuming not a leap year).

But namecheap's servers will cut you off and expire the domain on September 30th. If they were a real registrar I'd complain to ICANN but they are just a enom reseller.

Anyway, it looks like they have another promo code coming out next Tuesday (10/5)

NameCheap be bringing back the $5.99 and $4.99 pricing for 1 final day this coming Tuesday 10/5.

This will be limited to a few thousand domains total (100 max per account) so get ready.

I just had some more domains complete their transfer to Namecheap. I checked one of them (adultportals.com) and the whois contact information was again all changed to Namecheap's information as I had posted here on 9/28. The discounts are great, but if you don't remember to fix your contact information you may miss out on people contacting you and most importantly, renewal notices. I have updated my support ticket with Namecheap to let them know the problem still exists.

What I find really disturbing about this is how an existing process that has worked without problems in the past, now has gotten screwed up and not in a small, but major way. If programming changes were made, didn't anyone review or test the changes? What other unexpected problems may show up? Don't get me wrong, I have been with Namecheap for a few years and still recommend them.

I'm very disappointed in namecheap beause they sent me an email stating that the promo would run "until september 30" with absolutely no mention that they might end it early. I was naive enough to assume that they would actually run it until 9/30 like they said.
Unfortuanely for me, 10/5 will be too late for many of the domains I was plannig on transfering.
Yes, I know, you snooze, you lose, but it's basic customer service 101: don't forget the "fine print" (and don't make it "fine print") if you think that there is the tiniest chance that you will have to end a promotion early... >:(

I was able to get some domains transfered, but I was also caught with the unexpected end of the promotion. I didn't save the email they sent, but I didn't notice anything about a "quantities limited" message. People don't like feeling like they have been "tricked" even if the information has been included in small print. If you can't be honest and upfront with the details, you are only hurting yourself when you make it easy for people to be misled or misunderstand.

October code is

GETITCHEAPER

does not do anything on renewals (not even sure what it does)

I tried GETITCHEAPER and it takes 70 cents off of transfers.

GETITCHEAPER: Looks like an 88 cent discount on new registrations...
