Although I havent been here long and I dont know how often it happens, I have noticed the ever decreasing value of the NP$.

At one point there were many people selling @ 0.018 rate with few buyers, now I notice a sale of NP$ @ 0.017 without any takers.

How comes the value is falling and where will it end in peoples experience? Why is it so low?

Just a few questions for more senior members of NamePros.

I think the value hovers between .018 and .017. There have even been deals at 0.015 and 0.016.

I think it is still strong though - not to worry yet!!

It's all about supply and demand.
Demand is low right now and supply is high.

Membership growth has slowed since the start of the year I think.
If we all recruit active domainers, it helps everyone, especially on this issue.

I agree that the rate does fluctuate depending on supply and demand, and recently there are more sellers than buyers. Also, there hasn't been a live chat and meet auction in a while, which is usually eagerly anticipated by some amount of NP$ hoarding.

There may be one coming up really soon, so this may be a good time to start stocking up on cheap NP$. :notme:

very true the rate changes abt 20 days back .019 was the lowest possible priceyoud get for np$ these days its a bit slow due to the fact that namebucks sales have been slow one the pace picks up there the value is bound to appreciate

You're exactly right. Recruiting more active domainers is the way to go!

Actually a few months ago the rate was at .013 for a easy sell. then at the turn of Decemeber it burst to a high mark and has stayed steady so far. An auction will help boost it greatly though.

That's right. Before the greatest NP auction of all time involving 15000NP$, the rate was indeed hovering around 0.013, at times even as low as 0.011.

So we're in a NP$ recession at the moment? The rates still seem much higher than they've been in the past to me.
