How accurate are these auto appraisal services? I've gotten domains appraised at both and the results are often thousands of dollars apart, whih Nameboy always being much higher.

Thoughts on this?

Also, what are your thoughts on 4 character .net names?

Lastly, what is a good venue to sell a domain for a beginner?

The auto appraisal sites are not very good (The best of the lot IMHO is estibot) but they should only be used as a tool to assist in the evaluation of a domain. Think of it as one part of a larger puzzle. Check comparable sales (namebio.com etc), current trends, or post the name for appraisal here. There is not a program that can replicate with any consistency an appraisal due to the number of variables.

4char net? .com is king (only my opinion)

selling- Here, afternic, Godaddy, sedo, list them where you can, but be mindful of the fees that different sites will charge.
