I was just wondering that as on places like sedo it's the emd or category/industry defining names that are the most expensive and have the most offers. Even companies are buying them.
The recent canirank study also gave hard evidence that keyword domains are still the best for ranking and give many other benefits. And companies are definitely buying category defining domain names now and will do so in the future.
But I don't get the conflicting reports that some people have said about the Google updates from a few years ago about them not being as important but a lot of people are saying they will always be relevant. I understand that spammy emds aren't that great, I get that but generally.
So take away the obvious thin sites and keywords what are people's opinions on category defining names as obviously they are still very much in demand today.
If keywords domains were supposedly no longer as important wouldn't sedo and afternic have gone out of business by now?
And category defining names which represent a product industry or category are still selling and being bought today as is evidenced on sedo and by companies.
So no Google update it seems is able to stop the popularity of category industry defining domain names so what are your thoughts to describe their popularity?
