What do you think of domain hacks with a . ? I'm thinking about ones from more obscure tld's, are they worth reg for one word names etc?

It really depends on the name. What type of enduser posibilities are there for those hacks?

just ones like xman has in his sig is a good example "Gu.am ~ Yu.ma ~ Dra.ma " etc - im not sure if there are any 2 or 3 letter ones like that left but this is the sort of thing i mean.

If they're something like Gu.am & Dra.ma, I would say go ahead if you want as those are good ones IMO.

There aren't any but for the same price you can get a real domain

If it is a very short hack and the word has a niche I would say go for it but that just me.
