ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), the governing body for domain name registrations has dropped it's per year fee from $0.25 to $0.22 per registration year. They've just made this change, but it is retroactive back to July of 2006.
Some registrars are refunding customers 3 cents per name as account credit for names registered during that period. They're hope is that customers will want to put that credit to use and will purchase more domain names. We're going to take it one step farther.
