So I submitted my domain name, buildweb.com, for consideration for the WorldDomainDay.com international auction. My domain submission gets selected. I get an email one day before the start of the event asking me to submit my reserve amount range. I do, $2,500-$5,000 is what I tell them. Next thing I see is my domain listed at the World Domain Day auction website, http://worlddomainday.com/auction/.
The next step is that SnapNames will facilitate the auction, and it will start on Sunday August 23rd. I check the SnapNames auction link on the World Domain Day website, and my domain is not listed. I emailed the firm handling the World Domain Day site asking if a problem came up with the domain, I get no reply. I also contacted SnapNames and they could not help me.
Bummer man, I was interested to see what a little international exposure would do for buildweb.com, but also, disappointed with the firm handling the event. A simple reply telling me what happened or why they changed their minds would have been a nice courtesy.
