With the recent WDD on 24th Aug and upcoming DOMAINX™ 2014 Conference in Sept, I was thinking of buying .IN domains for domaining but from http://worlddomainday.com/auction/
-------------
Section 2: .INs

Update 21st Aug: We have to pull out .IN names from auction, following an advisory from the .IN registry asking not to auction .IN names.
-------------

Why were .IN names were pulled out from WDD snapname auction? There are no details on what was the advisory and why?

Not allowing .IN auctions? Is this a new development? Has some restriction been introduced for selling/auctioning .IN domains?

.IN domains are auctioned/sold on domain marketplaces, so why not at the WDD snapname auction?

I have been on the event, there were two officials from the IN registry, they insisted that the .IN to be pulled off since there presence is there. Officially they are not allowed to sell IN names for auction the registry agreement says so, they are silent on the terms as of now there is no problem with the sales unless you make lot of noise over a sale and grab the attention.

How does that policy benefit anybody?

.IN auctions lead to investment in India. Surely that's a good thing!
