There are many days or months dedicated to special causes or industries to bring ideas into the spotlight:

• National Library Workers Day, April 21
• National Donut Day, June 4
• National Ice Cream Day, July 18
• International Dog Day, August 26
• International Talk Like a Pirate Day, September 19
• National Taco Day, October 4

I think there should be an International Domain Name Awareness Day, to promote awareness of the power of a good domain name.

If the domain community used social media to push this campaign, it could generate a great deal of interest and help to raise awareness of domain names and generate sales.

I nominate March 15 as Domain Name Awareness Day, in honor of Symbolics.com, the first domain name to be registered, which happened on March 15, 1985.
