My place in South Africa (Photo's)
Feels like I know many of you so well already I feel like sharing some pics with you. Although I am living in Holland 6 years again now (I was born in Holland but lived in South Africa from 1957 when my folks emigrated there) my heart still lies in Africa. I was on a visit 2 weeks ago to my elderly parents who still live there. This pic I took from the porch of their house on the banks of the Vaal River. It is about 1 hours drive from Johannesburg. I spent most of my youth in this house. Great fishing and canoeing.
That thatched roof at the rivers edge is a pub. The pub and restaurant is situated next door to my parents property and offers accommodation in chalets. Sort of a week-end get-away place. Here is their website. The guy who owns it is a ex-Canadian Dennis Wilson and his wife Ann.
