Welcome to NP

Always have a plan when buying names, buying names and then trying to find a use for them is a good way to waste money.

When you buy a name to sell, get a list of end-users before buying the name.

Try and avoid .page names as well, and all the other new extensions, try focus on .com names when starting out and try focus on a niche you are familiar with.

Good luck

Thanks gilescoley for your advice, two domains I purchased on purpose, mycv.page for a cv creation service site, and hoom.page for browser start page.

Others I just bought as I thought it got some value.

Reg/renewal fee is normal $10.

I have a comment on the advice to focus just on just .com domains, this is old school advice and I dont agree with it, the new domain names IMO are the future, because .com is saturated to the death, there are many suppliers and few buyers, which reduced the prices and made most .com domains offered for sale worth nothing these days!

The trend and the future is in the new domains like .online .website ..etc. which offer very clever names. People will overtime move to these new domains because they will not find the names they want anymore on .com. For example lets say someone now wants to register a domain name called BestDeals.com he will find it is taken, then he will look for Best-Deals.com which is also taken! so his next bet will be to go to something ugly like Best-Dealz.com or something similar. But then the client can find best.deals which is even better and more clever than original BestDeals.com domain name

Regarding your domains, I advice you to avoid .page domain names because they are very unpopular, when exploring the new domain extensions, check namebio.com and see which new extensions are trending and selling best.

I agree. In the e-Commerce and affiliate marketing space, the "gurus" are all over the place when they try to give advice about what domain extensions to use. Some say to always use a dot com and other's say it doesn't matter. Which leads me to believe that they don't know. If you care about what Google thinks about it, they clearly state that it does not matter in the search engine results. I'm not allowed to post a link, but it can be found on their webmasters googleblog page.

Q: How will new gTLDs affect search? Is Google changing the search algorithm to favor these TLDs? How important are they really in search?
A: Overall, our systems treat new gTLDs like other gTLDs (like .com & .org). Keywords in a TLD do not give any advantage or disadvantage in search.

Now, in my opinion, that doesn't say anything about if it will make a domain with a new gTLD easier or harder to sell because your buyers are not Google and they have their own preferences and biases. I'm willing to bet most buyers are not aware of Google's position. But the study of past behavior, my intuition tells me some of the new gTLD's will become more and more accepted as time goes on and as one-word dot-com domain names become more impossible to find. The trick is to figure out which extensions will become popular.

Unfortunately, companies just don't use. page domains for this type of site and it wont be easy to sell them.

The issue is "you" have ideas for these names, but you need to find buyers or potential buyers before buying the names.

Why 'Hoom" though, if it was Home.page, then that at least makes sense, but Hoom has no meaning

.page isn't even showing on namebio as an extension so its a not a good sign

Try and grace delete these for credit and reinvest in a better extension

I was planning on registering home.page but it was already taken, So I registered hoom.page even though it doesn't got any meaning because Google, Yahoo doesn't got any meaning.

Rather get a name like Hoom.com or Hoom.net if you want it as a brandable, but HoomPage makes it looks like you cant spell or have typed it wrong

Do not see any value in those domains IMO
However, good luck!

For one thing .page is Google registry.
Would it be a jump in faith to believe that they will be supporting the .page
extension as well as the others they manage, like the .app and others ?
I don't know and Google certainly isn't going to admit they are favoring their tlds.
I have invested in several domains with .page. One is adult theme and one premium keyword cannabis related. The cannabis one is 5 letters, and very common slang keyword.

I find the co.uk very intriguing. Then by owning that extension it gives the
holder the right of owning the .uk. I'm not in UK. but read about the tld.

those domain have no resell value but may works for your own if u plan to dev...

the most important mind set I learned so far is, as serious domainer, u buy or reg name for a new company who need a good name or for a exsiting company who need upgrade...but not for you own hobby or personal site...the name have real value must can looks like a business name.

I regged some name base on my own hobby or interesting....thats fine if not expect a sell..can take time to dev them slowly and get some fun....but that is totally out of topic as domainer or name-pros....

The forum has stats on what's being registered.
One of my .page are all unavailable, from .com down.
That might be one criteria to decide on ,when speculating.
Are all top levels taken. IDK.

the reason only your name left w.o reg....from other side, may be also a signal of no go...while u may feel it is a critera of go....go or nogo, this is a question....๐Ÿ‘ฟ

I wish I had read this before getting the .page's . Didn't go overboard spending but,
was thinking to get more, but having doubts raised on popularity.
I usually buy things with the thought in mind to sell, since I help a friend do used retail sales part time.
Thank you for the namebio site. I had been looking for that and had gotten
lost over last few weeks in getting a website up, finally, after agonizing frustration, and
stomach issues relapse.
