This isn't my video.. I just happened to run across it on YouTube but I used to swim here all the time when I didn't feel like making the 3 mile trip to the Lake (Ontario) in Rochester, NY. We used to swim both atop the Falls and below them in the Genessee River (when the Falls were off ). There were foot trails down along the river gorge where you could hike along the river tho they weren't sanctioned or maintained in any way. People are getting hurt or worse down there every year either drowning or falling into the gorge hiking where they shouldn't.
Beautiful summer or fall.. further down the river a couple miles there's an actual pedestrian walkway across the river that leads to Seneca Park and the municipal zoo. Many nice trails behind the zoo as well and those are maintained and alot of people hike them every day.

You could go into an observation area beneath the bear's pool where it could swim underwater next to the glass.. you have no idea how big these are until they swim right next to you. One paw is nearly twice the size of my head.
