My Fastest Sedo Transaction

I received an offer at 10:30 PM last night, agreed to accept it, and 18 hours later Sedo received the money and the push has been completed. If the money get's into my Paypal within the next 6 hrs the entire transaction will have been completed within a day. Wish they all went like this. Far cry from the string of sh~theads that bid, srung out the negotiations for a couple of weeks and, than, flaked and bailed a couple of months back. WooHoo!

Would you be willing to mention the name that was sold?

Congratulations!

I am hoping for the same luck as you. I got an offer yesterday, countered, they countered back, & I accepted their offer. I'm now waiting for Sedo to receive the money.

This would be my first non auction sale so I am hoping for the best.

Congrats Michael. :tu:

My last SEDO transaction was completed (start to finish) in 4 days, and that was the fastest one I've had yet. Looks like you are heading for a new record. WOOHOO!

Best of luck w/ the transaction.

I had a terrible streak in Jan/Feb that was like nothing I had, previously, experienced- 5 deals in a row, one after the other, each involving back and forth negotiations over names w/ prices that were agreed upon and ranging from the high $xxx's to the mid $xxxx's- a total that was pushing close to $10K.

One by one, each deal fell through. I thought that I had gone to sleep and had woken up in an alternate reality where everything had changed and was operating backwards. 1,2,or even 3 bad ones out of 5 deals sucks but is at least within the realm of believability. But 5 all in a row and all w/ different people? I was feeling snakebit, to say the least, and, really, went through some dark moments regarding the domain name business, all of the jackal's in it, the structure of the marketplace and my relationship to it. I knew that the only viable option was to hang in there, tough it out, and stay the course- I have invested too much time, energy and resources to drop everything. Walking away would have been self destructive.

That experience acted as a catalyst that has brought about some needed change in my overall approach to domain name transactions. When an initial offer arrives, I figure that, for one reason or anothe, the chances are better than 50-50 that a transaction will not occur. This has made me less emotionally attached to the process. I do my job, but I don't have on the blinders that unbridled optimism can stick you with. There's a calmness that comes w/ detachment and the realiztion that despite any your best efforts, there are areas that you don't have any control over. It's almost like observing the transaction through a looking glass. It has a life of it's own and I can accept the results if the name sells old or does not sell. It's hard to describe some of the nuances involved. I'm not passive and I am flexible enough to hear the buyer and adjust but at the same time, I am prepared to walk at any time w/o regret and w/o getting upset.

Bah! Didn't mean to carry on so long w/ the true confessions. :notme:

Lucky! My first offer and my only offer so far has been going on for 2-3 weeks and still looks like the buyer has not paid. :(

My last Sedo transaction was a quickie too. The name was SellMySites.com and the transaction took less than a day.

On the other hand, my deals on there last year selling Poker.md and buying Poker.in each took over a month even though my parts in both transactions were done immediately. In fact, Poker.in from the time I first emailed the owner to the time the transaction was complete via Sedo's acquisition service was literally about 2 and a half months. Well worth it for the deal I got, but still...I only want to go through that once! It was absolutely ridiculous.

This month in sales for me is abysmal compared to the last 2. I sold ovre $5000 worth in Feb and March combined, and now $100 in April with a NPB on a sale on Afternic and another couple worthless unbased offers on Poker.in. I was hoping to sell $1000+ this month...yea right!

Congrats on your quick sale!

I hope to report my sales here soon, when I get some. I've only been doing this for 2 months and no offers or sales as yet.

Hope you get many more. :)

Congrats, I know my one and only sedo purchase was complete in 2 days and I thought that was great. :)

I paid, next day sedo notified seller of payment and he pushed. Makes me wonder why others pay and wait so long?
I push almost the instant I get the OK from Sedo. Why a seller is taking his time after a sale doesn't make alot of sense. I want the money in my acct ASAP. The problem I have and the most insidious problem that the system has is w/ the buyer who makes an offer, agrees upon a price and, than takes his time to pay. Or worse yet, takes his time, strings everyone along for a week or two, and than disappears.

I checked just my email and nothing from Sedo or Paypal, yet. It would be cool if it closed inside of a day and was close to a record, but w/ the accounting dept hours and inner office procedures, it prolly won't finish up until tomorrow. I'll post the time stamp from the Sedo when they verify that pmt has been made.

Thanks Kerrijo and greetings. I hope your 1st sale is right around the corner for you. There are some members around here who have sold within a month of their first registration. As for my own experience, I'm a slow learner so discounting the small $10 sale that I would get here and there, it took well over a year before I had my 1st substantial sale and substantial meant $100. at the time. My best advice to anyone new is to spend as much time as possible getting a grasp of the fundamentals. The work and exposure to the marketplace will increase the level of understanding and the sales will evolve from that. It seems that a good number of the people who focus totally on selling or ppc income right out of the gate are quick to lose patience, become upset when reality doesn't measure up to their expectations and they burn out as the initial glow fades and the reality of how difficult this business really is, sets in. My best wishes for you. May you to be one of the successful ones!

I'm right there w/ you, brother. If I had my druthers, I'd spread the sales out evenly throughout the year and screw the rollercoaster ride. Wouldn't it be nice if we could bottle up some of the good times when the tide runs high and the grass is green and sprinkle some of the magic out when we could, really use a dose of it?

The magic thread- nearly two months with zip, mention it on the thread next thing offer/ accepted/ buyer confirms money sent - all in the last hour.

Not in my account so not spending it yet. Reg fee name last year- loks like a mid $xxx sale- assuming all goes well a very acceptable profit. :gl:

Touch this thread , or rub it - the thread I mean
