Hi guys,

As I commented in my previous post, I bought DomainTrader and I'm giving it a new look, my style is minimalist, I think I'm doing a good job.

Now, I have two very powerful domains to exploit my portfolio, the first is nameflipping.com and the other is hugeweb.com, with which would you exploit it? hugeweb can capture traffic from hugedomains, but would it look good ??

I try to leave a picture of what I am doing:

Hey @stub

In the domaining the SEO should be done by keywords, for example if you sell the domain mars.com you can not develop an extensive content about mars, any blog dedicated to it will position more than you, it is simple, by two general rules:

1. Because it will have more and better content.

2. Because the time of the publication is permanent and not dynamic like yours.

80% of web browsing is done by mobile, amp is a google technology dedicated to it, so it is the way.

I give the example of hugedomains, a web without design but fast effective.

I see many domain managers preoccupied by putting images to the domains, such as foliotrader, dndork or dnhat, that's a mistake, people or customers are looking for a domain, not the image that you think you want to put, a domain name can be very ambiguous , also these images overload the web, cost money and penalize seo and performance.

I have to mention that when I talk about professional solutions, it's about personal portfolio scripts and solutions so you can exploit your own business or portfolio.

Firstly. I'm shocked that 80% of web browsing is mobile. I really never realized that. I guess primarily because I never use mobile for searching the web. It's so impractical.

Next. Isn't all SEO done by keywords? Not just domaining? So what keywords would you use for mars.com on a for sale website trying to sell mars.com. Absolutely nothing? Not use SEO at all?

I take your point about graphics and domains. Huge Domains, GoDaddy, Afternic, Sedo, all use no graphics. But I honestly thought that was only because this was impractical to use graphics on a large scale with millions of domains for sale. So you are saying that it doesn't matter how many domains we have for sale. We should do away with the graphics. It's an eye-opener :)

It's not clear for me what SEO we are supposed to be using for a domain sales page. Or how to exploit this to our advantage.

LOL, I do not like to surf the phone either, you also have to see the public, if it adapts to our sector, etc.

There are many nuances, but it is a published statistic of google, about the SEO I do not know if I explain badly, but what I want to say is that effectively SEO is based on keywords, but there is also a very important factor that is the content , it is there where we can not compete with a description of a domain against a post in a blog.

What I am taking from your comments, is that is still important to do SEO using keywords for domains we have for sale. But that it cannot compete against a full content blog. Which I understand. But what I'm missing is what kind of keywords should we use for a domain like mars.com, or any other domain we have for sale. Do we use "mars", "chocolate covered toffee bars", "interstellar travel", "mars rover", "the red planet", "mars.com domain for sale", " 4L .com domain for sale", or something else. And how many keywords would be optimal? And how effective can we reasonably expect these keywords to work to our benefit, understanding that these keywords cannot compete with a full blown blog.

Paying AdWords :) and a good marketing online strategy

OK. So we are getting down to the real esoteric nuts and bolts here.

So how does using paying adwords, as opposed to a non-paying adwords, help the on-page SEO of our landing page? I don't see it? Could you give me an example, and try to explain how it helps? This is not a trick question. I'm just trying to understand how it helps the on-page SEO. I could have understood it if you had said relevant keywords. Although I would have asked for examples for mars.com.

A good marketing online strategy for any domain for sale is obviously a good idea. Something I haven't given enough thought too. But I don't see this as on-page SEO. Can you also give me some examples of what a good marketing strategy looks like? For the uninitiated.

I'm curious why you would even want to create your own private domain name marketplace. You'd have to have thousands of domains of similar type to even make it worthwhile. The maintenance/improvement cost (not even including marketing cost) and time would be major disadvantages. It seems that time and money would be better spent buying/selling domains. Just my two cents...

The best way to do marketing is to go to the sector in which you are specialized, for example if you sell the domain mars.com you can not make a campaign with a sports audience.

Now, the problem is when we have many domains of many things, it is there when I do the following:

Linkbuilding and horizontal marketing, you must have proxis domains with a lot of traffic to index the domains you are selling, they are difficult concepts to explain in the forum, but there are companies that are dedicated to selling or renting these types of websites.

When a domainer specializes in a sector, obviously it is easier and we talk about a vertical marketing strategy.

Hi @spikedo

Well, I think that in addition to a serious image, leaving the domain in the field to wait for someone to see it is less productive.

I think the main reason is so you can point your domains to a website YOU own. So that you are not paying commissions to the websites which are selling your domains. A 20% commission is a pretty nice bunch of change not to give away, for the privilege of giving them YOUR traffic.

Totally Agree!!

I think a marketing campaign is a waste of time, i mean..for 99,9% of domainers who have a portfolio that do not have enough names to satisfy almost every industry.. is not the case of domainmarket.com

Please forgive my ignorance. I don't see any relevance from what you have just said, to the on-page SEO of a domain landing page. I'm sorry. It's just not going thru my thick head :(

Can you please give some examples of companies which sell or rent these proxy websites. So I can do some research.

Iโ€™m not an SEO expert by any definition. But Iโ€™ve heard that google can and will bury any site with weird traffic patterns which I guess a proxy site setup would have.

How is buying traffic safe from the game over google stomp-out?

If it is organic traffic they do not have to penalize you, another thing is that you buy bots or do black seo strategies, but buying organic traffic is the same as paying facebook to advertise your profile.
