Hello All,

It's just been brought to my attention that someone has copied the content of one of my sites completely.

Here's my site: www.ionic-health.com
Here's his site: ionic-bonds.com

I'm concerned that this will cause me to get zapped in Google and the other search engines. What action should I take about this? I'm pretty darned concerned about this and find this to be pretty uncool.

I thank you in advance for your advice and would appreciate your wisdom.

Thanks,
Andrew

Ouch that is not good either but with all of the advice here I am sure you can tell him what to do.

Hello All,

I actually was the one who alerted (on DNF) the owner of radarmadness.com of the copying of his site too! (this theif's site is radarmadness.info).

This theif is doing some pretty serious copyright violating and I've already taken the first steps to close him down. Breast-feeding.us, his copy of my associates site has already been taken down and ionic-bonds.com will be coming down shortly, both by the hosting provider. Further I've alerted ICANN and Namecheap of this concern and legal action will be coming this individual's (and these possibly these companies) way shortly.

My determination is strong and I do appreciate all of your comments on this matter. I guess we all have to be dilligent these days to protect our content! Ya'll are the greatest...thanks again!

:) Andrew

Content theft is now becoming a major problem and I personally would support any organization who takes a stand against copyroighting infringments. There is unfortunately very little one can do at the moment. The cost of lawsuits can be excessive

That is a good form worth the money if it means stopping people like this guy.

My ideas:
1: Jupe their site
2: Jupe their hosting
3: Jupe their staff's internet
4: Jupe their domain

You don't have to pay $25 for that form. Most ISP's have the form where you can print it out and send it or email it to them for cases like this. In most instances, this is the only way they will listen to you since it is the law that they have to have proof you are the copyright owner. Otherwise anyone could report anyone. This way it's all in writing and legal. On the ISP's site, look for the DMCA Agent (usually under Policies or the TOS). They will tell you who to contact. Do not tell them you are going to sue them or threaten them. It only puts them on the defensive, at least not in the initial contact. If they still ignore you, then...

Final Update!

I am glad to update you all and let you know that ionic-bonds.com has now been suspended and that my content is now safe! I had talked with a lawyer and was ready to go the distance to protect my content, but fortunantly it didn't take going to this extent.

It's been pretty crazy, but I'm glad this is resolved and I will now work to be more dilligent about protecting my sites content. I guess this is something we will all have to be constantly aware of!

Thanks again to each and all of you for your help and guidance! Ya'll are the greatest!

:) Andrew

Congratulations, glad you got it worked out!! Content thieves like that should be shot...or made to use a Vic-20 with a 300 baud modem to access the internet. The torture will kill them. :)
