My biggest takeaway from NamesCon Online is it needs to be permanent. In April I wrote on TheDomains, is the future of NamesCon virtual? Well it’s certainly part of the future in my opinion. NamesCon Online has been great in my opinion, to be able to just move in and out of meetings, to the […]

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Out of curiosity,

Elsewhere on web, I saw a thread about some one objecting to a front runner being a speaker in this event.

"I will not be attending NamesCon online." is the title.

How come? If there are known scammers like this, why are they chosen?

And that speaker is an NP member too!

This forum has been moderated tightly and scammers are banned, from my observation.

what platform did they use to host this?

I have some comments there as well. On top of the front running this person also copied my sale thread, verbatim, without permission on NamePros...Well she copied everything but the budget. She substituted her own lowball budget in.

It's certainly been a great event in the last 3 days that I have witnessed, and the UI of the platform does make it a wonderful experience overall.
Would look forward to many more in the future.

So he's indirectly selling your domain name?

Sorry for the confusion. It was my WTB thread.

She took my exact wording, copied it, and substituted her lowball budget in place.

With zero feedback, she even copied the parts of it that made zero sense like -

I have purchased many domain names via domain forums in the past, but this is my first WTB post in a while.

The front running part though is well documented. There are many cases of offering not only expired domains without permission, but privately owned non-expired inventory at auction as well.

In that blog post she says -

"I have already confessed all my mistakes in namepros and apologised for them and apologize again to all of you."

I can't find this confession and apology on NamePros anywhere. If anyone can find it please let me know.

On a side note, back to the original post by Raymond. I think it makes a lot of sense to keep much of this event online in the future.

It will give more access, to more people. Not everyone can, or is willing to spend thousands of dollars on travel and other expenses to attend the event in person.

For those unaware, this blog post appears to be a follow up a April 2018 OnlineDomain.com post.

Many of @Neha Gupta nP reported sales posts seems to be centered around outbound / quick flips.

AudioServicing.\\com
Sale venue: Outbound via paypal
Sale price: 999 USD
Time taken- 1 week
Hand regd

Domain name: GlobalLogistic//com
Sale venue: Outbound, payment via Escrow
Sale price: $4500
Purchase price: $530
Details: Sold in 18 days after acquisition via outbound.
Note- Sold 3 months ago

Domain name: MarketResearch//net
Sale venue: DAN
Sale price: $4500
Purchase price: $150
Details: Sold in 1 week of acquisition via inbound.

I use the email ids on the potential client website, whois email id( For this, I use domainiq where many times I get multiple email ids) and sometimes I use hunter.io.

Having not read the alleged apology, I'm not sure if she acknowledged the front-running she was accused of doing is/was wrong, and/or if she has since pivoted her outbound/frontrunning strategy.

I can't find this confession and apology on NamePros anywhere. If anyone can find it please let me know.

Perhaps she apologized/confessed to somebody via DM?

Not excusing this.

Just wanted to point out that her WTB thread was created less than one month after joining nP.

I get that it's certainly a WTF moment. But could the WTB plagiarism also be/have been a teaching moment?

I certainly never received an apology.

She said she apologized on NamePros for her behavior. I don't see where it is.
It seems more like backtracking after the fact, after you are caught.

It is not like I was traumatized by this or anything. I didn't even remember this incident until someone posted a link on the blog which reminded me about it.

But, between that and frontrunning it just seems like a pattern of trying to take a shortcut to success without putting in the actual work.

Frontrunning is the far bigger issue.

I don't think it is acceptable to say (or imply) that you own a domain when you don't. This has not only happened for expired domains, it has also happened with private non expired inventory at auction. This can lead to major potential issues if for instance a TM holder is pitched.

Some domains I won even gave me issues down the road, as the front runner basically made a commitment to the party to sell a domain at an absurdly low price, then didn’t win the auction when it went past that point. I even had legal threats one time.

Hey everyone,
Yes my sales are quick,
AudioServicing.com, hand reg domain, not possible to do frontrunning at handreg domain,
MarketResearch.net, inbound sale, not possible to sell by frontrunning on inbound.
GlobalLogistics.com, outbound and quick , So, according to you guys, if someone sells a domain quickly by outbound then it is frontrunning, what does outbound means to sell quickly.
Check more of my sales, most domains are hand regged, so front running is not possible for handregged. If someone selling hand regged domain via outbound ( as they are most difficult to sell), it means person is good at outbound.

Second, yeah it did mistakes like copying content and making low balls offers when i joined namepros and did some mistakes in domaining when i was new, I had no knowledge, everyone learn by making mistakes, seems like you people never did any mistakes in domain industry and in your life.

Haunting a person for small things for years is like deliberate harassment.

I don't think that I should make any apology and any explanation to anyone now. Because no-one actually trust if someone say true but everyone trust lie.

All the other stuff aside...

What are the lies exactly?

Are you denying that you were offering domains for sale, both expired and private inventory, that were currently at auction in a misleading way that claimed you either owned the domain or were representing the owner as a broker?

People who make mistakes also need to take accountability for their actions. On the blog post you said that you already did this on NamePros. Please kindly point me to that thread, as I see no evidence of it actually existing.

I did the mistake when I was new because someone misguided me but as soon as I realised things,I took right path. I do took accountability of my actions. When I was new to namepros, I did not know how to use namepros, so I copied your post thinking that my requirements is same, so I can post this. Did not knew it is such a big issue. I did apology but did thread was initiated at wrong place , so namepros deleted that. I know you will think I am telling lie but I will talk admins and try to recover that post if possible. Right now, only proof I have this screenshot, where my company name and my usa address ( this address belongs to my usa friend and partner) is being used by some other company. Seems like they used my name at other places too.
If I am able to collect more proofs, I will post.
Defaming someone without giving them Chance to speak is not very one sided opinion.
Rest everyone is free to make their opinions.

As far as I can tell nothing that was said is untrue, therefore it can not be defamation.
Truth is an absolute defense again defamation.

If something was said that is untrue, please point it out.

I do hope you have learned your lesson, because the behavior you were engaged in is harmful to the domain field itself. I also hope you learned from this because you appear to be running some type of training courses that teach others about domains.

There is an ethical way to do it, and I hope you learned that since when you started.

Hi @Neha Gupta

My apologies if my post wasn't more clear.

I had posted some of your reported nP sales to demonstrate your pattern of quick sales continued. More so pointing to that it appears you are still operating via outbound. If you are still frontrunning, that I don't know. I also searched on nP to see any explanation for you front running names, but couldn't find it.

Do you have a second to discuss what happened with Smoked.com?

https://onlinedomain.com/2018/04/10...-this-time-with-an-oliver-hoger-owned-domain/

The domain name is smoked.com and is in the Featured Namejet list. I got the email because I used to own smoked.info up until a few months back. I let that domain drop a couple of months back so this tells me that the front runner is using old whois records.
reserve between $25,001 and $50,000

Just to clarify, are you trying to say that somebody else had sent frontrunning emails for smoked.com? According to OnlineDomain, the front running emails came from @namaxis.net. Historical WHOIS shows namaxis.net was registered to namaxis.com at the time of email.

Or were you just saying, you found evidence of others using ""namaxis""?

Though I don't attend these, I will be very very wary, where a known con is an invited speaker.

There is no doubt about the pattern. She admitted all this.
We are only talking about this because she claimed she has stopped (false up until at least April 2020) and that she apologized at namepros (also false).

And here I hesitate a send out an outreach email even after I secure a domain and pray they type in the name at Godaddy or Afternic lol

Well, There seems to be no alternative to the face to face Meetings, We are Social Animals and when we meet in person the Energy Exchanges, Vibes, Aura comes into play, no doubt resultant of such Business Meetings have lasting effects on the Outcomes.

Given the situation due to the Pandemic this Online e-Meeting Platform is good improvisation to redeem the situation. I do agree with my peers regarding a Permanent event. This platform can augment the Main Event, in case of contingencies and to do follow up with the participants.
