The noob forum,...not sure what you're setting out to do. I'm looking a bit closer to the other 2.
Skating and Gaming stand out due to being skinned. the noob forum needs the personal touch. generally its difficult to personalize a forum and give users the sense of ownership.
skating i would say has pretty good chances to succeed, it's a good target group and not as overly saturated as gamers are. revise your topics, for skaters, where material is a focal point, you'll need a suggestion, trade and help section.
also, give users the opportunity to show off what outstanding gear they have.
the same applies to the gamers forum, it needs a PC section.
Categorize down to FPS, RPG, etc. give people a chance to list their scores, open your forum up to clans, that upon contacting you, could have their own topic with their clan user group. this would bring dynamic to your board that self contains the clan into their own environment, while simultaneously the clan members spill into the regular board. The clan opportunity is perfect for 360 and ps3 online gamers as well.
Be a bit more proactive when it comes to these trends.
Get back to give your forums a more customized look, use icons for games and logos for equipment on the skater board.
off to a good start, don't drop the ball and you should ge there. :tu:
