My 1Plus test period is over

As many other people I too was excited to see one of our very own here at NP launching the new parking/minisite concept 1plus.net.

Level headed as I try to be, I didnt jump both feet in but took 5 reasonable traffic names and tried them out at 1Plus.

Granted - I never did Custom parked them but I have played around with the "types" (park,news,blog) - and keywords etc.

They just dont get traffic like they did before (if I understand the stats right) - I have hard time figuring those 1plus stats anyway. Are they all time, Monthly, weekly, daily what...?

I am giving 1plus just a little more time - then its back to ND for these to join all the others that make money.

There are so many features that I like with 1plus and sad to see its not working out.

Any reasons I should stick with 1plus for my test...(they have been there now about 3 months which I think is the minimum one should give to a new program to prove itself)

i put 3 names there that definatly get traffic...I am getting the hits,,But no clicks yet,I have just been there a short time,But so far...My conversion ratio is 0 clicks to alot of hits...Now..Understanding the platform...I see how this might be...The landing pages are really nice...The monetization is so-so.... I will stay with them a while longer to see if i start converting hits to revenue....If not..same here...back to ND ..Sedopro....An extremly nice service 1Plus has though...And badger has done an excellent job with 1Plus.net..I truly beleive 1Plus will be a top parking service...Badger has put so much into the project..I feel sure it will be winner.

Yeah - badger must have had one helluva year...lots of hard work. I really wanted it to work too.

Just did some customization to HitHawaii.com - I'll see if that works.

The traffic numbers are they monthly or all time. and the unique is the only one that counts. The hit is just the particles of the page right.

I found a similar situation when I tried it out all those months ago.

I put in 12 domains, the only domain that got any clicks was the one listed throughout the 1plus.net thread. I think it got 2 or 3 clicks and made a couple of bucks.
I left all 12 domains in there for a few months before moving them back to ND.

Badger is doing a great job but I can't help but wonder if he overstretched himself and 1plus.net with the acceptance of thousands of domains into the program.
IMHO I don't think it was ready for widestream use and it probably could've benefited more if it was kept a closed program for a few more months while more changes, updates and extra features were added.
A public consultation of the existing domains at the beginning would've been a great idea so they could get some extra input before going live.

The thread here got out of hand as well, I stopped reading it months ago when people were asking questions that had been answered at the start but because the thread was so huge they couldn't see the answers.

I'm not saying it shouldn't have tried to expand at some point or that it should've stayed tiny forever, just that it tried to be too much too soon and ultimately paid the price.

Now any feature ideas or questions just get lost amongst the technical difficulties and the other hundred voices asking the same unneccessary questions.

It definitely has some great ideas and features in there but they've all got lost under the weight and strain of thousands of domains being added literally overnight.

1plus needs that talked about FAQ or better yet its own forum - here or elsewhere.

I wish Badger best of luck. Similar things will pop up everywhere soon - programs that have learned from the model....so 1plus better get their stuff together. But still I wish them all the best. I want you to succeed...and that can only happen if most clients succeed.

I still have quite a long wish list of what the perfect domain parking page would do. NameDrive Hire ME....

Obviously with any new venture and especially one in a democracy, Ive tried to help and adhere to many requests for features/add on etc and I guess its only now were at a point when we can say "ok, we dont have too many major patches to do" and we can can move onto addons that dont have an immediate impact on peoples pages - like a nice comprehensice FAQ section/forum etc etc (as you guys have mentioned)

A few points I dont understand, I dont know how by changing parking providers you can lose traffic?? If anything, you should gain traffic as your domain parked with any of the providers that pay you direct dont get listings/multiple pages.. The stats we are working on currently, but have never thought it paramount as your stats will be correct at your ad provider. Nevertheless it will be done..

And with regard your domains Rob F, as you know, unfortunately up until 27th June you had an issue with using the correct adsense code on the site. So perhaps its a little unfair to say youve given it a 3 month trial..

Personally, I have all my non-developed names parked at 1plus and have never had it so good.. Ok, so I work hard on promoting, keyword analysis, submitting etc etc but regardless, my earnings from these domains have gone from about $2 a day to ~$9 a day.

badger - as you can see above we love you man and have a truck load of respect for the work you've done.

Gaining or losing traffic - That is the whole mystery of domain parking isnt it. We all know that much of the traffic is not Type in traffic. Some services just "Drive" the traffic. (pun intended ) Sometimes for some reason some names fair better elsewhere. Which is why advise parkers to keep an eye on the bottom 10-20% in both traffic and CTR.

Yeah - I had the adsense code thing - it affected the income but not the traffic data. Also What is that traffic - The unqiques. as they are shown? What time period if any is that number. I suspect its all time even though that would be a heart breaking low number for my doms that were getting OK traffic with ND.

But I am not giving up on 1Plus just yet. I still got some things to do like submitting and maybe give them some incoming links for PR.

As strang as it may be...I have found different parking services get different results.. Some of my names at Fabulous get more uniques and higher ctr that NameDrive and so on....I think the adsense ppc plays a role at your service...Don't take that wrong...Being able to just ad adsense and have an instant minisite for free is AWESOME...But targeted links in the center of landing pages has always brought me the ppc...domain parking wise....However...With your service...I can see domain names getting indexed in search engines much faster....This bringing the adsense revenue to the fore front....So..i think it is just a matter of patience...Letting the SE's crawl...Getting good SE indexing...Much like a regular website dev.

One thing I have noticed is that when you look up domains in the search box, they show only the traffic for that day. Its says for the month but it reports only that days traffic stats.

I just parked about 6 names at 1plus.

Here is the approach I will take... I will be adding sites that I plan on developing/making mini-sites for to 1plus. In the meantime, they will be getting indexed by search engines and driving more traffic to the page. By the time I get around to developing my own little mini-site, I will have done a lot more good than a simple parking page. Hopefully it will help my overall SE placement as well.

Not sure if this is a valid approach, but it's the one I'm taking! It will also keep my funnel of "to develop" sites full.

I have to say, it does make me laugh when we are compared to the other parking companies.. Because this is sooo not something we set out or wanted to do when we started the 1plus quest. If we wanted to create yet another parking company feeding you "adsense for domains" ads (like all the parking companies do) we could so easily (i mean so very easily) have done that. Probably for a lot less hassle. But we wanted you to have the relationship with adsense not us and we didnt want to insult your intelligence by offering you claims like "highest paid percentages", when this means squat.

I know my learned colleagues mean well, but all i read or get PM's about nowadays is how this parking company paid me this, 1plus didnt do that...

So let me re-iterate, we are not a parking company. Sure, you park your domains with us, but you control pretty much everything else. I mean, for my domains (which i have them all parked at 1plus now), my adsense income has doubled from what i was getting on the 1plus site before. Or from any other parking company for that matter. This is because I have been patient. My domains have more and more indexed pages, which gives me more and more visits and inturn more income.

And Droplister is absolutely correct, when people say "i get more traffic when i park here, not so much from here", they are kidding themselves, its the same amount of traffic just not reported the same.

Incidentally, my domains at 1plus.net, have gained me nearly 2,000 registered opt-in email subscribers. Another 1plus user from another forum with a small, yet valuable portfolio has 10,000 opt-in subscribers. And get this, one of my 1plus domains is a poker related domain and, to date, it has acquired 20 or so subscribers. Now, I already have an affiliate code with 888.com so, as an exercise, I sent my 20 subscribers my affiliated 888.com's auto email / latest offer and, guess what, 4 of my subscribers signed up earning me $800.

So, to cut an extremely long rant short, if any of you guys are serious about your domains and their future development/value, then indexed pages, page rank and subscribers is where you should be at. If you want to turn your $6.95 into $7.10 then, in the short term, its likely you will earn more by parking elsewhere than 1plus.net.

The opt int email and stuff would be great if I got traffic.

I am just not getting any traffic - And those names I parked where specifically my highest ranked traffic pages with lowest ranked Click through. (only made sense to give them a try at 1 plus.

I am just doing the regular url re-direct. Should I do something else. And when submitting to SE's should I use my domain or the 1plus/tageyournamehere - domain - or does it make a diffrence.
