.MU : Potential for music sites?

.MU is the official extention of Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean with approx 500000 citizens.

However, I have come across a select number of music-related sites that use the extention, as if it would stand for MUsic. The most notorious one is muse.mu, the official website of the band Muse who promote muse.mu as official domain (even though they also hold museofficial.com)

I wonder if there'd be any potential in using .MU for Music purposes? Especially since Congo (holders of .CD) is not the most stable country and buying .CD domains could be a risky thing, Mauritius could maybe make some good cash if they'd reach out to the music community and sell domains to bands, record companies, concert promotors, etc...

I think Muse use the domain more because it's MU for MUSE, than for MUSIC. It's a bit of a novelty and works well for them I think.

As for more general use, I can't see it myself really ...

Creative use of a less-than-prime ccTLD, but as far as being something that would be a good move for domainers... Only if you had development plans. When the extension still has so many "great" names available, that means that any potential end user could have their pick of the litter, and not have to buy your name in particular (Or the chances of your choosing the one name that they simply "must have" is a stretch).
