Anyone can see the pattern here -- like it or not, the new gTLD's (or any anti king) are rising every day. I constantly see sales of $5k-15k on namebio including the new .app. Where do you guys think this will put .com? Yes it's king as of now no question, brings the most liquidity and cash, but where do you think .com will be in say 2-5 years at this rate?

The usual, still kicking ass. Not sure what you're looking at but the top 100 reported sales from yesterday at Namebio - https://namebio.com/

You had................1 new gtld sale. That's not good. So your first sentence makes no sense.

Then overall reg numbers are down from Jan 1 of this year till now. - https://ntldstats.com/

That was 1 out of 100 for June 11th.

    June 10th - 0

    So yes clear pattern.

Then, you just posted sales for .de, .io, .cc, .info, so you don't even know what new gtlds are.

Maybe not a clear pattern but I think even some of the heavy hitters here would admit theres been rising gTLD sales .

No, see what I added to my last post. You just included .de, .info, .cc, .io as new gtlds.

Well that was my mistake but they are still anti .com lol -- not to mention sales done under the radar or without namebio. They exist also.

Right, and they would exist even more for .com.

new gtlds in top 100 sales recorded by Namebio

    June 11 - 1
    June 10 - 0
    June 9 - 0
    June 8 - 1
    June 7 - 0

I wouldn't know it was that bad unless you made this thread and I took a look. That's just 2 out of the last 500 top reported sales.

Being anti .com doesn't make sense for those that want to make sales year in and year out.

There will be other extensions that do ok, of course. But are they profitable for domain investors? Some new gtlds and cctlds for that matter have much higher renewals. A lot of new gtld sales were accomplished by the registry itself, no cash for an investor.

Believe me guys .com is king - no question, it is my personal king. I have a small collection of gTLD's but other than that it's all .com

well not sure if your thread is about .com falling or ngtld rising..

cause if its about ngtld rising then you gotta first make sure you do not mix ngtld with cctld.. else your whole thing is not really making sense.

and if its about com falling then well.. io and co (cctlds) always had a nice share of the market.. and imo will continue to do so.. I like them personally... and ngtlds just popping up here and there with few sales.. as always.. but that still changes nothing about .com being king..

why not just put all arguing to rest for everyone and accept the truth that for as long as domains/internet will exist.. .com will be the undisputed king of it all. I don't say it cause I have sex with .com or am married to it.. I say it cause its true and fact.. not really that hard to notice if you look around a bit.. so if you wanna make money in domaining, stick to .com. if you wanna invent new trends and take risks... well.. thats your call.. then go for ngtlds.

    imo cheers

I just happen to see since I started a variety of anti .com are selling higher - just my observation. I am all for .com staying successful, it's my main thing. And whatever small gTLD's I have, those also.

I thought vacation.rentals was sold in 2018, but the date is showing 12/4/2017. If remember correctly, the buyer specifically noted that he paid the extra $300 to get the top 2018 sales spot over home.loans.

Some ccTLDs have always done well. Nothing new.
.com continues to grow, ccTLDs continue to grow.
In fact the relative marketshare of .com has been declining to ccTLDs. This is a 15+ year old trend.

Almost all mentioned nTLD "sales" are done by Registries...
So-called "Premium" registrations... including their partners like Sedo.

I have. I've sold all types, it might not be a direct competition but I attribute anything other than .com as an anti com.

Maybe, but the more exposure, the more potential maybe for "real" sales. Who knows?

Exposure depends only on quality websites...
Not on NameBio stats... and not on Chineses.

Funny thread... Started off pumping ngTLDs and finished with sharing good ccTLD sales and everyone agreeing that .com and ccTLDs are still the best investments. :)

Thanks for the morning laughs, all.
