.tv Motivated by Estibot valuations on TV names

Does anyone ever use estibot for a .TV or TV.com valuation.

If so, how do they compare to your real sales?

Also, I have about 50 names that are lined up as 'interesting' for handregs.

I want to run them through estibot. Would anyone recommend a figure (say a valuation of $100, $200, 300, $400, $500, etc) where you would automatically assume the name was worthy of purchase.

I have already checked a few and got a $1900, a $130, a $290, and a $530.

I also got a couple of reg fees only!!!!

I never use Estibot or any appraisal service as IMO they are all worthless.

Here are a couple of examples.

Seoul.tv Estibot $340 ( any takers :hehe: )
Sport.tv Estibot $4,200 i will take this one right here right now for that.

I agree. It is as much use as a chocolate teapot.

From your 50-names list, i would take those related to TV extension prior then estibot appraisal. WatchMeOn.tv would probably give bad estibot results, but fits nice with tv :)

edit - just checked - watchmeon.tv has been regged 3 years ago, .net is taken also, .com is available :)

I wouldnt call estibot useless, in fact I think its a great resource to take into consideration but only as a comparative tool, not a final $ figure. It gathers some very useful stats in one place (if you sign up for the free account).

Automated appraisals are worthless IMO.

Yeah, there is a much easier method that is 100% accurate. A domain is worth precisely what someone is prepared to pay for it.

I find estibot useful becuase it gathers alot of information about your keywords. # of bidders for that term, overture, etc, etc. However I do not believe in their appraisals, automated is automated.

I agree with all the members that they believe estibot is a good place to gather a lot of information that normally you should open many windows to get them

I also think appraisal either automatic or manual most of the times create trouble and don't really help
The names that are not collectibles "LLL/LLLL.com" can't have a right price

Maybe a professional appraisal report will say that your domain worth $XXXX because this was the price range other similar names were sold
What if you don't find an enduser or have no interest at all ?

I saw 1000s times to let high valued names drop even if the appraisal was good

All these automatic appraisal tools are a good reference point
From total black you see a light but don't let the light blind your eyes

I been using it some past couple weeks.

I don't care for the apprasial by automated service or a paid service. Many variables and to many. Don't post many names in the .tv apprasial area either.

I agree on amount of information all at one site, organized well and good at figuring out keywords and what people search by keywords and consumer ideas when they type in search engine

No, I don't use Estibot or any other appraisal site. I've only used it a few times just for curiousity only.

Agreed.. I wouldn't rely on it for appraisals tho.

Appraisals are for newbies and for old wolves trying to get a steal.

My thought is if you buy without a plan and some idea of what a domain is worth (not via appraisal, mind you), you probably shouldn't be buying.
