Moneybookers and chargebacks?

Hello.

I haven't used this system before, so I would like to ask somebody about chargeback policy in it.

According to their FAQ

I am a seller and received a Moneybookers payment - when can I be sure about the payment to ship the item to the buyer?
Immediately when the funds hit your Moneybookers account. e-money is like cash! Once received, the transfer can't be undone.

However I have googled around and founded a couple forum messages (in russian forums mostly) about moneybookers account being blocked after receiving fraud money.

Anyway, I have got a client, who want to pay using moneybookers. He is interested in pretty large package and I just wonder - maybe he is carder? :)

Any ideas how can I protect myself? How can I check status of some account holder (verified/not verified)?

Thanks, Andrew

Moneybookers, unlike Paypal, does not allow chargebacks. When a buyer sends the money, he can't get it back. When the sellers gets the money, nobody can take it away from him.

I don't know what happens if the funds you receive are stolen or whatever. You'd have to contact their customer service.

I think chargebacks are still possible if the funds turn out to be stolen (funding using a stolen credit card number for example). It's safer than paypal but not as safe as escrow.

this is interesting i never read carefully about MB terms, i got my MB account closed by MB just because receiving money from someone that they suspected, and what MB staff doing its very fair for me they required me to withdrawn cash that left at my MB account and close my MB account, they not just close your MB account and take the money there like paypal, thats the bright side for money booker so far they doing great!

Speaking of MB :
I saw that... strange that ebay would allow even a penny slip from its grasp.

If I am correct that if there is a issue with moneybookers, payment is straight away refunded out of the seller's account even without asking the seller.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have heard that they favor the buyer and take little attention to the seller. (Similar to PayPal)

But I will not be surprised, if they will act like paypal :)

All aim at providing a "safe" service to the buyer. It just really depends on which direction they take and how they explain their services.
