I have heard that it is possible to register domains and then in a week or something get your money back by letting them go, I would like to know how this works and also which registers support this.

Many thanks.

For directi/resellerclub there is a 6 day money back guarenteed period. In which you can get your money back (minus a fee). Who is your register?

Most of the others don't offer this.

I believe it is around like 40-50 cents. Nothing too big.

Godaddy gives you 5 days with no fee but you have to call and cancel domain and ask for a refund email I believe.

Actually, I worked in GoDaddys billing department, you can either email or call, but it cannot be more than 5 days on the button. And, if you begin to abuse this for domain kiting, they have the option to charge you, making it not even worth it. This is for .com and .net - not all TLDs are refundable. Most of the standard ones yes, but the ccTLD's Im not so sure.

Moniker.com is offering this for the price of $0.50 per name. You have a 4 days grace period in which you can delete the domain. All done via their webinterface. Works perfect, i have used it a couple of times myself. Contact me and i'll let you know how to get a nice price discount :)

enom also offer refunds although I have never seen it stated anywhere. I found out by emailing them and telling them that a domain was registered in error and they refunded the full fee.

I was under the impression that by law, (in the UK) if you buy something off somone and decide that you dont want it you can get a refund within 30 days without question.

This was in my package when I got Trading Standards on to 123-Reg grrr

i Believe so too... :hehe:

Nah seriously. You need to manually delete the domain. Then call Godaddy support and get customer service to cancel. Must be within the 5 day window though. I regged names like SateliteDish.net and didn't know it was a typo :hehe:

Moniker is probably a good choice if looking to test domains as they advertise the option to drop them as a selling point, with godaddys domain kiting blog I don't think it would be wise to keep dropping names there as they are definitely against that testing type of activity.

I don't think that is for everything. It is for the likes of electronic equipment etc. Also contracts can usually be backed out of with 28 days.

Go with moniker if you want to test traffic.

Check with your prefered registra is you bought a domain by accident.

...only if it was originally sold to you in a state unfit for purpose.
...there's nothing sadder than watching the 'returns' queue at your local department store where those in line make up a load of bullshit reasons for wanting to return said item(s).....
