The majority of mobile phone/device screens are primarily LCD now, correct?

And it appears it will remain that way?

What about those rolling/folding screens, are those LCD too?

STN - Cheap, uses less power, slow refresh rate
TFT - More expensive, uses more power, high refresh rate, crisp image.

Some STN displays have gotten really, really good (especially those LG's and Samsungs) , and some TFT's aren't so hot, but it's a rule of thumb to which 98% obey.

(i got that off the web from another forum archive, but thought it was good to post)

OLED = every single phone within 5-10 years

Or... Maybe I'm just wishing that would happen because I own some half decent oled related names :bah:

I'm really hoping oled credit cards come out and I can cash in oled.cc for some serious bucks B-)

OLED is the future of mobile screens.

I thought OLED pretty much came and went with a whole bunch of hurraw but no follow through? LG went with it but seems to have given up.

Caveat that I haven't paid attention but also haven't seen it mentioned beyond a couple years ago.

Lots of new technology being worked on including plastic for displays that would be cheap and bendable, foldable, or rollable. I can see a phone that tri-folds...once to open as it does now and then opening the screen again to double size it. That would be close to a 600x400 screen I believe.
