I was playing around with estibot and saw some single name domains that appraised at $260, $230 and $400.

Is anyone using estibot for .mobi's and are the sale prices substantiated.

Thanks Much.

P.S. And these can be sold on Moniler, correct?

Estibot's owner has mostly concentrated on coms. The values Estibot gives for mobis are usually around 1% of the com value - but there is some variation, so there are other factors considered. But I do not think relevance to the mobile web is, as yet, part of the programming.

Esa (the developer of Estibot) has said that mobi presents a problem to appraise because it is so new that there are not a lot of comparable prices and that there is an even wider range of valuations than in other extensions. Valuations in the range you mention would interest me only if there were another factor, such as relevance to mobile shopping.

Thanks for your analysis.
I actually found some that were interesting.

mobi. Evaluation .com Evaluation
$1,800 $110,000
$2,500 $150,000
$500 $ 41,000
$420 $35,000
$400 $33,000
$1,300 $73,000
$590 $50,000
$730 $62,000

This is my new hobby.

Don't blow your credit card up.

I probably would buy the E=2500 (I take out the $ sign, keeps me from getting too excited) domain almost regardless. The rest would depend on how they suited the extension and what Google and the dictionary told me. I bought several a couple weeks ago with E=20 -> E=50 - But they were in a niche that I have a lot of confidence in.

The quick ansewer is no, you cannot quick-sell domains for estibot values, or half of them, or a quarter of them. I know of an .info domain that dropped three weeks ago that has E=950. I don't want it for a dollar, and no one else has bought it either. The domain makes no sense. It is a little used form of a very frequently used word, can't imagine what kind of a website it could be used for. Buying domains is easy. Selling domains is hard.

As far as I can see selling in Moniker's domains for sale section is a joke. You have two main alternatives - flip them here on Namepros (the market is currently flooded in all extensions) or hold until (if) Mobi becomes established, at which time the better reg fee domains of today would become sought after gems. To be conservative I would budget for 5 years of renewals. And realize that .mobi domains are very speculative, in an investment sector (domains) that is itself very speculative.

I hear Directi resellers will soon be offering an excellent price for mobis, stay tuned.

I've found Estibot to be quite accurate at ballparking LLL.coms, LLLL.coms, and generic.coms for the most part, although markets like .mobi with a very small sample population really don't play to Estibot's strength (in numbers).

all sounds about right, maybe minus avoiding the 2500 mobi without more information,

Josh of estibot, I alway praise you and your services. Above ^ is yet another instance of showing a well-grounded and humble reaction to comments about estibot!!

If you are wondering about the valuation of .mobi's, there are actually wild price fluctuations on the open market which makes it more difficult for estibot or any appraisal to be accurate. There are people who sell .mobi's for registration fee or less, there are a majority who put them up for auction and they stay at the $60 minimum, and then there are plenty of private sales in the 4 figure range.

Thanks Esa - estibot continues to get better and better and your balanced attitude is appreciated.
